That was disgraceful running on the rail after trainer stated they where trying to get off the inside can't hell but wonder, lets see them run Winx there.

Shocker on Lady Le Fay, especially when it is obvious it is not the place to be. Victim of barrier maybe but he rolled the dice and couldn't pick its feet up  the last 100m.

Id rather him test the fence now and get it wrong for the first 8 races for all I care just as long as he's figured it out by the main race I'm all good

Bowman, has ridden two favs on the inside and been beaten on both - you'd think he would learn after Race 1

Bowman won't want to be there in the Cox Plate.
He should know better  when the rail appears to be off than to stick to the inside on 20-1 shots, let alone favs. Not talking through my pocket I just find it surprising he's making those sort of errors ahead of a major race where tactics will be crucial. Is he distracted or having one of those days?

He or She in this one - last five starts in G1 level and back to the mile suits him.

Spoke to a bookie mate this morning.

Said there was a huge difference in his turnover  from Caulfield Cup day to yesterday. He held 250% more yesterday with punters clambering to get on.

He said it was the best meeting for money, that he's worked at in the last 5 years.

So maybe if you provide the best quality horses, properly advertise the meeting so that 26,008 people still turn despite the terrible weather conditions, everyone on course, plus the race club can reap the benefits.

@bookielover It's Daryl Braithwate, he's a fair dinkum water diviner when it comes to getting punters to the track. :-@

Only guest I can recall at the Casino in the last year that sung only original songs. Several of them were 500 strong sing along and you couldn't move near the bar or concert area. sounds exactly live as he does in recording and has an uncanny knack of connecting with his audience.

anyone punting today? great end to the carnival with big competitive fields...

I cant believe the price (double figures) of Hauraki, flopped in the cox plate  two starts back won at Randwick and before that got within a length of Winx...

I cant see anything except Hauraki, The US and Vadamoss winning Emirates

Fantastic, great win. AWESOME ROCK - bred in WA (Gingin). Becomes the first WA-Bred horse since Scenic Shot to win the Mackinnon (now called the Emirates Stakes) in 2009.

Best horse won the race.........seriously, fine to say it once, but when you say it after every race and haven't thrown it out as a tip...just comes off sounding stupid!

I liked Vadamos today, so had to have a saver on Awesome Rock, was only one place behind it in the Cox

Time for the Rockhampton Rocket to blow them away!  C'mon!

Happy Trails not coming to WA, retired after it's run!
