Dogs got rid of that dh Hasler best "trade" of the decade.Dean Pay will do well for my club, shame Dymock bailed but i understand why he did.
Lichaa re-signed for 2 years you beauty, should be pretty big improvers next year! i reckon it wont take much to catch up on the pretenders that were the majority of the top 8 this year ;;)

Cooper Cronk wants to play on and the Roosters somehow think they can afford him =))

If they move Pearce to hooker and move Jake Friend on-as is being speculated-then that's just about too much for any team to counter. Tedesco there next year too.
  • ThunderstruckThunderstruck    7,676 posts
Is Cronk still playing that well though TRK ?? Why did the storm no longer want him?

Doubt the rooters will be unbeatable regardless...Tedesco couldnt play any better than that fella they had a year or two back whose name escapes me..great move he made moving to the warriors was it? =))

@Thunderstruck He's moving to Sydney for luuurve. His missus works for fox sports. Make no mistake, the Storm wanted him. You're a long time retired though so he's probably made the right decision to play for a Sydney club.

Ahh yes that rings a bell now!
Yeh may as well have another crack why not.
  • therealkramertherealkramer    8,008 posts
Apparently he has a job lined up at fox sports when he retires-he does occassional work for them already. But he will still make $1.5mil over the next two yrs if he plays so if his body is up to it, why not?

Most likely a **** take as they have Milford & new signing Jack Bird. Would be happy for the Raiders to release a few players and sign Pearce. We have had a former dog fucker(Joel Monaghan)play for us so he'll fit right in ;))

Cronk signed for a mil per season as a rising 34 year old @-)

The money thrown around in the Afl and Nrl is ridiculous...

Kalyn Ponga signed with Newcastle for $800k as an 18yo with a few games of first grade experience. The money is ridiculous at both ends of the spectrum. Cronk doesnt really gave a history of injury like Thurston does and he sat on the sidelines for half of last season getting $1mil+

James Maloney has been excused from Kangaroos duty at the World Cup amid strong rumours he's to be 'traded' to the Panthers. Matt Moylan will reportedly sign a 4 yr/ $3.6mil contract with Cronulla :)]

Rumours abound that the Raiders are shopping mecurial centre B J Leilua around to rival clubs to be salary cap compliant. The Gold Coast Titans are reportedly interested pending the potential release of Jarryd Hayne who is tipped to return to Parramatta. The Raiders will indeed be a low unit next season. :-<

I don't know how credible this report is but if it happens god help the competition-even the Cowboys. Roosters 2018 premiership confirmed

RIP Steve Folkes, Bulldogs legend who passed away a couple of days ago.

He was a great and loyal clubman, high quality player, and a good coach.Only weighed in the mid 80kgs range as a second rower but was as tough as any in the 80s played over 240 games plus represented NSW & Australia on a number of occasions.

Was 59 and VERY fit for his age i believe, heart just went bang after a bike ride i think it was :(

    The futures bet this year.

Moving away from Penrith...thanks for the memories good and bad.

Even though a little dissapointing the reigning premiers were towards the end of last season am very keen on Cronulla to bounce back for the top 8 @$1.50 but there's not much in those odds to wait out the season, so going to angle up for a top 4 bet at $3.

Hoping for plenty of Shark attacks!

@Ridersonthestorm33 Giving the Panthers the wide berth may be a good idea. There is never ending drama coming out of there atm-they seem on the brink of imploding. Already a player exodus(Bryce Cartright, Tyrone Peachy(2019)( both to the Titans), Matt Moylan(Sharks)and more supposedly unhappy and looking to leave(Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Josh Mansour), add to that a coach under pressure to keep his job. James Maloney is the ultimate winner-delivering premierships to the Roosters & Sharks-he even made the Warriors look competitive. But even this may be beyond his powers.

Yes for sure.. Panthers looked on a good path and now some angst for their supporters, they were a little hard to predict at the best of times. Hope Moylan gets the job done, think he should fit in well at Cronulla.

A couple of years back, the Raiders and Panthers both looked destined for future premiership glory. Now, neither look anywhere near winning it all.

The Mighty Dogs on the back of a minor rebuild and ditching coach Des the DH will hopefully have a good year.Must be a sneaky to make the 8 @ $3.50..

We're also a chance of upsetting the Storm although first up idk ..I've hedged that leg and two others in a 1st round hail mary tipping ticket i put on with the Tab.

    Dragons/Broncs
    Knights
    Cowboys
    Rooters
    Souths
    Dogs/Storm
    Eels
    Titans/Raiders

Anyone looking for an early play in round 2
Take the $1.80 about the cowboys to beat the broncos cause if and when they belt the sharks tonight as expected, that price will halve

@hash I'm interested to see how Moylan & Dugan go on debut for the Sharks >-)
