Am leaning the ATA is his race...he's my knock for the Perth Cup! Ouch that's laying it down...think if Material Man and Pounamu get to the race in good form and draw reasonably well, then one at least will get over the top of Trap For Fools.
Banking on the pressure going on further from home in the Cup, think they will keep him honest. Then again there's not a lot of depth! Am guessing Grey Lion is doubtful ?
Just banking on being a Perth Cup they won't let him get it too easy over the 2400.
If Pounomu runs with a 107 rating then all the other runners will be pretty much on the minimum....I don't see it running.....unless the race is a 100+ race or more??
After a 33/1 Railway Stakes winner and a 25/1 Kingston Town result , will be astounded if anything this time wins at over double figures...unless it's Dark Musket!

Can recall many a staying race with Max Simmonds calling and two or three hoops going ballistic in front and along way from home. Is it because there ( the horses not the hoops ) a more even bunch these days ?

The heading of this thread should be changed to
" C B COX STAKES Saturday"
In Protest of this disgraceful name change.

statistically horses win much more than they should off a very short time between runs.
well what is it that will make them uncomfortable????

Bergio is massive odds in R3. Granted 1500m is a bit too short but I couldn't not have a go at those odds.
He never fires first up but he always puts in a good second up run. This
race is a raffle but worth a few bob EW.
Although I have about as much interest in the race as the royal wedding :-q

Two Group 2 horses at best - Pounamu ( a Group One winner - fair enough ) Material Man yes can possibly make a for Group 2...the other four cmmmmmon. Seen much stronger York Cup fields.

Now let's get this first four!!
It's easy anchor Pounamu and Material Man either of them 1st and 2nd or 1st and 3rd. Leave Superman out completely. Then fill in the gaps...would think Zarantz a chance for second...Cosmic Storm 3rd or 4th...perhaps Dark Musket may put a little value in if could sneak third or fourth.
Anything else ? Nope that's it. It's remarkable though how often something can still go wrong.
if sunset superman was just starting out and had won a maiden last time then its rating would have been 62, the same as it is going into this race.
they better hope to christ it doesn't run well or even the magic wand waver will struggle to justify g2 status.
but but but then i just noticed that it has placed twice already in stakes grade.
so maybe a maiden winner is up to this grade!
