Pinjarra Cup Day

Harness & Greyhounds
I will have some of the $8 Chicago Bull shown on the fields on the HRA website.

Also would be happy to lay Major Catastrophe and Argyle Red at the $8 and $9 respectively.

Some sanity has prevailed with manual adjustments to the prices of $1.50, and $34 respectively.

Hard to go past The Bull and My Hard Copy. The other two that could cause an upset think are Vulcan Tin and The Bucket List..one of them might surprise at a bit of odds. They'll both need luck and clever drives.

Truleylucky- 61 & 8 fixed....galloped out settled 50 from leader....still going to sprint lane into a placing ....pulled right then left and whacked with the whip at the same time ....gallops out of it....S Steele - banned list.- hands of lead.

That is why I was amazed when he landed a plunge last week.

Best two horses in the Cup 1,2 but the very moment My Hard Copy took off and hit the breeze, a few others had the chance to go before The Bull and obtain the one out one back on the back of him. Instead stablemate My Hard Copy was presented with the soft run.

Better off moving a bit early, let Copy go and then go around him then hand up to the Bull. At the end of the day and from barriers 11,12 the two best ran 1,2 and were the best drives. Think barriers 11,12 though are possibly better than 7,8,9.

Once Vulcan Tin couldn't lead it was curtains for him, Master Jaxon not interested handing up and was beaten just after the bell.

The Bucket List was good, barrier nine then well back in the field and tramping three wide without cover from the bell, hard to do when horses the calibre of Copy and Bull are ahead of you, was still there at the top of the straight. He needed a similar run the winner got. Our Jimmy J typical from him, a real trier.

In running the stablemates had the race to themselves along way from home.

Great crowd down at Pinjarra for the Cup today especially on such a hot day and fittingly the 2 best horses fought out a cracking finish with MHC getting the better of The Bull on the line.

Agree VK the two superior horses helped by the two best drives. Tongue in cheek of course - but to a few of the other drivers in the race - don't wait for it to happen..make it happen!

My Hard Copy $9.50 v Chicago Bull $1.28.

That was a massive gulf between them. Deservedly so ? Not so sure. Not now anyway.

It did that last start too, except it was more extreme today and actually galloped instead of racing roughly, hence why it was ODM.

I don't think its an easy horse to drive, but agree think it needs to be cuddled up a bit with soft hands. Must have a fair bit of ability.

Was a good day out, a hot 35 degress, and first time I've been able to make a meeting for quite a while. The only knock was they ran out of icecreams for the kids :)

Special mention to the oncourse punters club, put a lazy $20 in, and got back just over $120. Some seriously good betting!!

I hope those who backed Truleylucky last start got some of their hard earned back this arvo?!

He drove it prefect today. Never pushed it, just cuddled it.
Had it in my EQ selections, got the first 3 in, but have stood Angel of Harlem out in the next. Hoping the shorty gets in, but whenever i do that, they dont!

Declared it the winner to the better half in the score up...classes above that field.....but once a driver is  banned ....that's it for me.
    Short term pain...long term gain.
Forced to cuddle the horse from self induced ODM today.......just should have been more aware in the score up and done the same off the front then late when angling for a sprint lane run last start. Truleylucky is a pretty smart horse who is no angel to drive granted but you have to stay in your gear to stay in the race....whether you draw 1 or 12.

Our Angel Of Harlem...rumoured cost $ 400 K .......not the first high priced NZedder to be claimed by the breeze position at Pinjarra. No doubt in my mind the toughest breeze track in Australasia ....especially beyond a mile unless they walk in front. It just pulls the guts out of them.

Agree with that but it wasn't one of Shannon's finest moments, Four wide then three wide before finding the breeze was unavoidable but the 27.7 down the back was ridiculous unless they had shifted the winning post.
