@Thunderstruck I'll be taking some of that $2.40 about Delpo because, as you say, Novak is likely waiting in the final...unless he stuffs it up like 2014 against either of the two finalists from that year, Cilic, Nishikori. Novak's poor record in US Open finals(2-5) notwithstanding, he looks in ominous form this year.

With Nadal withdrawing from the Paris Masters, Djokovic will again become World #1 when the new rankings come out next Monday.

It's the first time since 2000 (Marat Safin), where a player has been ranked outside the Top 20 and then also become World #1 during the same season.  Back in 2000, Safin was ranked 38th in February and then became World #1 in November.  In June this year, Djokovic was ranked as low as 22nd.

As of this week, there are four Australians ranked in the top 40.  Alex de Minaur is the #1 ranked Australian (33rd), followed by John Millman (35th), Nick Kyrgios (38th), and Matt Ebden (39th).

Ash Barty now up to a career-best 11th in the WTA rankings, just 121 points behind Serena in 10th place.

To be any chance of cracking the top 10 this fortnight, she will need to make at least the Round of 16 in Miami this fortnight to maintain her points tally (she lost in Round of 16 last year) and hope that Stephens loses early (defending champion). Otherwise, with the two players directly above her (Sabalenka, 25 points, and Serena, no points) not defending many points, she would need to make the S/Fs to have any chance.

    In Miami, it's 990 points for the winner, 640 for the runner-up, 410 for semi-finalists, 205 for Q/Fs, 110 for Round of 16, 55 for R2 and 25 for R1).

    WTA RANKINGS
    1 Osaka 5966
    2 Kvitova 5440
    3 Halep 5402
    4 Kerber 5110
    5 Svitolina 5020
    6 Bertens 4940
    7 Pliskova 4940
    8 Stephens 4232
    9 Sabalenka 3595
    10 S.Williams 3406
    11 Barty 3285
