there is rumour of a video that has been circulating for a while now of a taser in use on a horse using a treadmill. I note the police have asked for copies of the video from the public. No doubt they'll have it in their hands very soon if it exists.

Heard another rumour today he is trying a plea bargain for a  two year ban. How crazy though if true hitting horses up on a treadmill

What would most people on this forum think on Percentages Of Trainers.

What % of trainers would have used a Jigger at some point in the careers. We all know that DK Weir would not be the first or the last. I know back when my granddad trained that he used differing forms of devices when he worked them out the bush.

My guess 60% to 70% if not higher.

Always a job on channel 7 with Moody

Prince of Penzance still grates me and I wouldn't mind betting the rumours about that day are in fact truth

Throw the book and shove a jigger up his kyhber Pass

Jarod Mclean anyone seriously believe he can train of his own ability.

Biggest thing about getting in the shit is getting in the shit deeper.

If arrested or questioned stay completely silent let your brief do the talking.

And to think The Biggest Loser Contestants were allegedly resorting to persian rugs to drop the weight. They should have had Michelle Bridges applying the jigger to the jugular instead

Bob would have swept the g1s this season if not for Dk weir $-)

That's maybe why he was released without charge. If there is actually video floating around, any denial by Weir is another charge if the supporting evidence is strong.

Gee the owners are jumping ship quickly...probably more out of self interest(i.e they want to race) than any animal welfare concerns

614 horses by next week there could be the odd vacancy

Who wouldn't go down and rescue there horse and give it to another trainer

What will be interesting is how horses like Trap for Fools go for new Trainers

I think it will be interesting to see how all the good ones go. Looking forward to seeing where nature strip pops up next now.

P Pruesker got 4 years a few years back for the use of such devices.

Given the amount of publicity these charges have generated, and the efforts Racing Victoria are making to make the sport “clean”, Weir and his mates should get 10-15 years if found guilty. Otherwise the animal rights people will be well and truly on their high horse (pardon the pun)

    mclean letter....

You may have already read that Jarrod has been charged late this afternoon for having in his possession an electric apparatus.

It failed to say that this apparatus was found at Jarrod’s
Residence/Property on Caramut Road, Warrnambool (which is not a licensed
premise). Jarrod has got Cattle on his property and the devise is there
if needed for loading Cattle. I believe this is not illegal.

Jarrod will rigorously defend this charge.

The other charges have come about from him acting under
instructions from the Barrister who advised not to answer the questions
as it was a police matter.

All runners for Jarrod and Weir this weekend have been scratched.

The next step is Jarrod (and Weir) have to “show cause” at 2.00pm on Monday 4th February why they should remain licensed.

We are hoping all of our Owners sit tight and wait and see what the outcome of this meeting is on Monday.

.....does he have history in the porkies department?
didn't he just get in trouble recently for lying to the stewards?

Yep said a horse was “here” but really it was “there”.

Trap for fools was the animal and was hence scratched the next day

He's back. But I wouldn't say it's with a whimper more so than with a bang

What about the other three bro? Let the other blokes take the rap for those ones? Better hope no one rolls him under the bus because I’m sure there’s a lot of staff to be interviewed

Weir reminds me of Molloy from the Simpsons Ep: Homer The Vigilante. Perhaps Weir just needs to apologise?

Principal Skinner: "Oh he's so charming"

    Barney: "Let's let him go!"

    **Crowd cheers**
