Also thought Ashleighs performance at Roland Garos was also worth a mention. Hopefully she can go all the way

Yeah hope she goes well game looks suited to clay, she is the highest ranked woman left in the draw so a good a chance as any to get a slam. Womens tennis is clearly more open than the mens at the moment. 8, 26, unseeded, unseeded. and on the mens side 1,2,3,4 in the semis.

She just beat Elina Svitolina in the final (who she previously had a 0-5 record against) 6-4 6-3 to win the season ending WTA Finals tournament and collect the US$4.42m winner's prize.

Only the second Aussie, after Evonne Goolagong Cawley (in 1974 and 1976), to win the WTA Finals crown.

    Fantastic achievement.

She will play in the final of the Fed Cup (against France) next weekend in Perth.

Well, it's all down to the deciding doubles match, Barty/Stosur v Garcia/Mladenovic, which starts in a few minutes.

Barty lost in a three setter to Mladenovic, 6-2 4-6 6-7. Tomljanovic then beat Pauline Parmentier 6-4 7-5.

France won the decider in straight sets, 6-4 6-3. Mladenovic, in particular, was just too good.
