I missed this announcement on Friday, but the ABC is now the new home for FTA football coverage in Australia, starting with the next Socceroos qualifying match against Nepal this Thursday night.
They will be broadcasting the majority of the Socceroos' qualifiers live, although not the upcoming Nepal match (which is currently scheduled to be shown in Perth at 8pm WST on ABC and ABC HD).
They will also be broadcasting every Matildas game (including the Olympic qualifiers) live, plus for the next two seasons, one Saturday afternoon A-League game per week live (plus selected finals on delay) and one Sunday afternoon W-League game per week plus all the finals live.

Seems to be a fairly competitive group. North Korea withdrew from the group after five matches (2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss), with all their games being voided, resulting in Turkmenistan losing their win against them and putting them out of contention. It will more than likely now go down to the final match on Sunday afternoon between South Korea and Lebanon.
However, with the top five runner-ups going through to the next stage of qualifying (with the results against the bottom team in the other groups not counting), South Korea's superior goal difference will more than likely see them through, helped in large part by their eight goal win against Sri Lanka back in October. They also get to play Sri Lanka again at home tomorrow night.
