read  somewhere that because Laney has ridden a Japan group 1 he is now exempt from having to apply to ride there for the next two years. If that's the case and he takes up the option a lot of Melbourne hoops would be very happy. Well done Frosty

Damian rode for us at Ascot a couple of years ago and what a great thrill it was just to have a bloke like this on top. Not sure if I posted back then, but here it is again. image

No overseas jockey can ride permanently in Japan unless they pass a written and oral Japanese language test. Moreira failed this last year and the top jockey there at the moment, Christophe Lemaire took 2 tries to pass.

Damien can ride for I think 3 months a year at maximum without a permenent licence.

Another ride, another fav slaughtered. This time it's Royalty, Bendigo race 5. How he continues to get these rides amazes me.

How is that a troll when his reputation as a fav mock is well established? He just got rolled in the next race on the odds on fav for good measure, too. The ride on Royalty was a shocker-he'd find trouble playing scrabble with just consonants.

I tend to lean with Kramer here b-(  b-(  X_X

He is absolutely struggling at the moment.

    But he will bounce back.

You don't need to have ridden to be able to analyze a race.

Yeah but it’s easy to dog a jockey out when you have never been in their position before

True, but I'm sure if someone who has ridden was watching any given race and they saw what was a sh!thouse ride they'd call it. Non issue I reckon, they are all out their trying their best and if they stuff one up they're gonna get bagged. Nobody is immune, except Pikey is a wee bit

It's not so much about whether i have but how many the other hoops have becos they are the alternatives. Take the ride on Royalty(Bendigo, race 5) for example. If a jockey actively chases a ride-Lane didnt ride the horse last start-which is the best chance in the race, then they will come under more scrutiny. Blinkers on, good barrier but he found himself in all sorts and waited for all the others to make their runs. As I've said in this thread previously, Lane has made a habit of getting rolled on favs.

Not worried Wogboy. frosty sits on as good as anyone and a good bloke to boot. It does make me wonder though that if you pick out his bad ones , you also dont highlight his good ones. And that goes for any jock. They like all of us make the wrong decision at times , there mistakes are more il  though as they have our hard earned riding with them

Was not intended to be pointed at you Wogboy. didnt have the googles on when i posted it. It was meant to say we pot there bad ones or someone pots their bad ones but dont praise there good ones. Hence the reason i said about The chosen ones steer. I also meant to  say their mistakes are more illustrated not il as our money rides with them. Sorry if you were under the impression i had directed it at you not the case

That is precisely my point though, the better rides are on the longer priced chances, not the favs. Whether they are slaughters or not, Lane & a fav is not a good bet. Does he adopt a different mindset? I don't know, but It'sayesfromme will very likely win next start, so cop the tip

Only a relatively slender 1.6 lengths between Mer De Glace (1st) and Finche (5th) in the Caulfield Cup, who both drew outwide yet had vastly different runs in transit. Michael Walker, neither up front or back, minimum 3-wide and working all the way just ahead of midfield from the getgo. 2/10. Lane was back, patient, relaxed until asked for a last crack at them about the 600m mark. 10/10.
