Cheers for the info guys and congrats to Barry on the win with LL.

Not sure if Barry is the same Barry Guidice who played 25 games for Swans in the 1960s but if so then you can triple my congrats!

Barry was a real goer not overly endowed with skills but would relish a contest.

I stand to be corrected but I think Barry fairly recently had major surgery that forced a hiatus in his training and driving. Good to see him back and winning. He still loves being involved in the contest out on the track. Perfect example of why harness racing is quite unique in offering longevity as a competitor and should be encouraged.

With a life time involvement as the son of a trainer, owner, bookmaker punter and administrator I was appalled and ashamed with the images portrayed on last night's 7:30 report.

No amount of damage control and spin doctoring will come close to explaining asway this situation.

The Racing Industry now has a new "Everest" to climb and must go on the front foot to address this issue head on and allocate the funding required to rectify a disgraceful situation.

Perhaps the reduction in foaling numbers in harness racing is not as alarming an issue in relation to the "wastage" problem.

That description of Barry Guidice as a footballer sounds like he should've been at East Perth, supporting them we had plenty, another still would've been most welcome. Always need goers.

Email from Alan Parker ...who else?.....9 metro class /stake winners for Barry Giudice starting in 1972 with Lone wolf for Tom Backshell. In 1973, 4 wiiners in town with Early Right, the good horse Rangeview and the giant horse Gentle Ben x 2, who from memory was a monster trained by Roy Fenton. 1974, Early Right again, then 1977 Orbil, 1978 Sire Line and 1991 San Chase.

His other metro/country front winners were Shellwood Prince at Richmond Raceway, San Chase x 4, Timber Chip, Mystical Monique and Oaksana Boy.

More comedy from Albion Park tonight, race 8 gets the Benny Hill Award. what on earth was going on there? If only George was still around working that place.....it would be entertaining radio.

Think the o/s rein on former WA horse Glenferrie Hood became detached not long after the start and Pete Mc Mullen was in a bit of pain. Kylie Rasmussen actually did a good job to steer her horse The Bus into GH once they had locked wheels and used her position to force GH into.....forgive the pun......the bus stop. I thought that it would be declared a no race though because of the interference to a number of runners and am surprised it wasn't.

Yep, I think the "3 survivors" up front thought it would be a no race as well....they definitely pulled  the handbrake on and were looking around wondering what was going on.....generous to call it a race.

Person in charge of Glenferrie Hood fined $500 for presenting horse to race with insecure gear. Gear found to be of high quality.
But no mention of the seeming application of the handbrake and continuous looking around waiting for the "no race" signal to be given, before finally settling down into a 1 lap dash home. Bizarre.

Grant Dixon drove the winner, straight to the front and Pete McMullen behind the fave that broke gear, that was bad luck for the hot fave.

Unrelated but was was reading the court transcripts of the most recent scandal and one of the drivers, pleading guilty, his only evidence given to the court magistrate was "everybody's doing it". Nice.

Got a life time time ban by Queensland Harness, and the magistrate fined him $500 hahaha. Other cases that went to court they pleaded not guilty and the judge threw all charges out.

Left off a zero, was a 5k fine in that instance.

Sometimes you become over suspicious and it can be costly.

Cyclone Jim came off some very average form first up, was well supported, raced three wide throughout and won very well.

In what looked an easier assignment today opened at $2.50 worked to the breeze and won just as well. Big drifter with the Corps and started $6.4 on Betfair..

Being the clever punter that I am I was on at $2.50.

No consolation Chariots but Cyclone Jim comes from a very serious family, brother to Change Of Mind who has won about 30 races and dozens of good winners....goes back to the very famous Black Watch which Alex McKenzie sold to Alan Yarndley for a shilling......Black Watch growing into one of the truly great (greatest) maternal families of NZ. On breeding in that field, $2.50 is luxurious odds.

Was reading somewhere earlier that he was a 47k yearling so he definitely wasn’t missed early

Lost a shoe at both of his last two wins and done it from lousy barriers. Looks like he will be able to survive the RBD and go through the ranks.
Donning my self interest hat here, unashamedly, but spot whats missing in this sequence of barrier draws (Last 20 starts all at GP):
9,5,4,10,7,12,5,7,10, 1, 7,12,12,6,5,5,8,5,10,7 (Average last 10 = 7.7). By the time the horse draws again, it will be time for a spell. Maintain the faith, maintain the faith!!!!

I've seen blokes throw 12 heads without an odds or tail to be seen JJ.....not an inspiring stat if you looking for the random needle in the 12 haystacks.

He's back have to listen to Richie bell tonight in what has been a fairly boring nights racing.
Could be interesting mystery horse #2 from a good family.
Couldn't leave him out of my quaddie but could be very interesting win lose or draw if he crosses.

If you were on Sailor Jerry a place in the last race, you'd have thought inside back row draw with the $1.05 fave drawn to lead, three back pegs runs 2nd or 3rd at worst. But no lets ease off and go the the one out line back to third last.

With the $1.05 fave controlling in front and Suvaljko trailing on the one, would've been perfect three back.

Glad didn't touch that logical 3,1,10 trifecta it was gone the moment 10 left the pegs early.

In an earlier race noticed Shannon Suvaljko on the 100/1 chance Girl From Dardanup or somewhere, outside front row, and had it just after the start behind the leader,..what the..how can you have a 100/1 chance behind the leader from gate 9.

Was a bit unlucky too, couldn't get much of a crack at them and think would've placed with a clear run.

***and meant Ryan Warwick not Aiden! Haha, that many Warwick's over the decades. Tricky Trevor when he was flying their was no better to watch.

Like him or not, could polarise but Justin Warwick was perfectly balanced in the spider, drove many winners at a young age, and he's the best young driver ever saw, along with Peter Schrader.

Mike Reed the most underrated. Reckon was a far better driver than given credit for.

And that’s leaving out Stewie McDonald who doesn’t get as many drives as he should for his ability..IMO

Don't think finding a decent driver is a problem in WA ....Senior/Junior/Male/Female .....spoilt for choice at the moment. Getting a fit sound competitive horse and drawing a barrier to relative advantage.....that is about 80% of the equation to be dealt with before deciding on who to engage as the pilot.
