The Other Belmont Preview by TMP for 26/10/19

West Australian Racing
Ok I have been on Pretty Style last week with JW up and then Winifer with BP on Wed. I know I'm a Mug Punter but this is just too much!

This week I'm early for Sat again so I have longer to recover!

R/1 Lightly raced hrses here with unknown (maybe not much) potential. If I am in the shop I will hve a tickle on the top weight; love the name.

R/2 The top weight here was only beaten a length by True Image in the past;  so surely a chance.

R/3 Here are a bunch of 2yo's with my memory of last time v strong. The cameraman was obsessed with catching the Spicy horse have  a big wee!
Then the stablemate mate beat it a lip, courtisy of a BP ride showing vigour and lungeing forward with great gusto (contrast with Wed?).

R/4 Here is a good race ; nos. 1,4,6 and 7 here. Can Spillanova hold out Majanika; I think not; so horse 1 should win on last run. But Stratocreed was phenomenal last time; good price too; maybe because of the jockey.

R/5 Surely it is the big guy's day; I mean the topweight. Outside the leader should suit him better here.

R/6  This does look a field job. But i like Metro Boy because of the rider, the trainer and the old form; good barrier draw too; can lead or sit.
My only worry is really the sire; there seems to be a problem with his progeny; i don't know what; but they don't seem to kick on with age!

R/7 I see them all with a chance here.
At first I liked Sophies Song but the price looks too good.
They seem to have smashed Silkinize but the barrier is a prob.
I ended up liking Forgotten Star; so consistant and seems to go ok fresh.

R/8 This is fascinating; looking at these just turned 3 yo's.
I settled on the bottom one with the good draw and WP up; sectional seemed v good last time.
The others just do not attract me at the moment; maybe the trainers have cuddled some of them for this; but I do not see it.

R/9 This looks v v even. But Anne King's horses do sem to keep winning when finding form; the Bobcat horse now in to 6's.
I cannot leave out Beat the Bell or Royal Strata. It is just a funny distance, 1500m (?suiting on pace milers or the 1400m sprint types).

Sydney looks interesting with Madame Rouge and Testifiable; particularly the latter with those good wins at MV before.

I had taken all ups (all in) multis ending in Arcadia Queen in the Railway and the 1800m WFA; now I see she is fave for the Winterbottom and out of the others; another example of my judgement?

Race 6 don't forget @Piker...never missed a place in eight starts, fresh, ready and raring to go, it's Uni Time! Going for the 3 x 8 basis on him.

Race 7 a smokey, around 25/1 and 9/2 a place on the Corps, 17/1 on Tabtouch 8-| might be a fluker's chance, the Ash Maley/Jade McNaught runner Megazone. Think there's a win somewhere for him, was hoping for a slightly easier race and a good barrier, but I better have something on just in case!

AQ is starting in the $7m race on 2nd nov.
we know how Bob cuddles his good mares so I doubt he'll bring her back here for the r/way & kt.
    I could be wrong, but...….

Yesterday ( Wednesday ) their was a 43.9k carryover on the final race first four. Total carryover, no payout on the first four, not even 1%.

Why Tabcorp don't pass the Jackpot on to either the next WA meeting - Geraldton Thursday - or Ascot Saturday, or even Ascot the following Wednesday ( it won't be ), is wrong.

The lack of transparency to where the 43k has gone, or where it is going to is a joke.

Try contacting Tabcorp or WA Tab ( have tried both ) to find out where the 43.9k is going - neither can tell you. It could only happen in 2019.

Tabcorp hold the 43.9k jackpot until they please.

Another one bites the dust; Al Jancovic (look it up).

Since yesterday I have had a strange feeling that War Saint may have matured; have taken the 7's a place and will be in quad.

    R5 - I'm A Love Man 0.2u/0.8u (EW)

I'll kick it off with a small throw at the stumps. This race is devoid
of speed, so this guy might find the front and get it his own way. If
he can ramp up the speed coming into the turn he might be able to put a bit of distance on them and cause a boil over or hold on for a place.

    R6 - Metro Boy 1u (WIN)

He gets the draw he needs first up. He's the kind of horse that needs a soft run, to be saved up for one big sprint home.

    R7 - Princess Zelda 1u/2u (EW)

Third up today and draws a better gate. She put in a huge run last start, coming wide at the turn and storming home for 4th.

    Galahad in the 3rd.
His first trial finished 0.3len behind To Spicy after missing the kick by 4len over 400m.Had plenty of legitimate excuses in 2nd trial.Nice trial win on Monday.

Wowee what a run by Jericho Missile and the Pontif.

I'm going to be captain hindsight here but how did he start that price? He's never been above 6 in all his previous races.

Uni Time - what a good money spinner for connections, 9 starts - 4 wins, 3 seconds, 2 thirds..never out of the money and had them covered at the top of the straight.

Ash Maley - Megazone, he's very good, Maley that is, Megazone goes alright too, and then add Jade McNaught and it's a good combo.

Three wide but with cover, was fair dinkum cruising! Been on hot favourites and they've never travelled that well.

    I've had a howler

Have picked the quaddie for 8%, in chasing extra % I've taken 2 numbers out of the first leg only to try get 15%, one of them being Unitime. Nek minute get the next 3 legs in and it's a 14.6K dividend.

Then, I've backed each way individually Forgotten Star, Dig Deep and Zero Demerits. Not bad.
But in my wisdom, I have an allup place on the last 4 races with Black Sabbath - Forgotten Star - Miss West Coast - Black Ducati for a decent amount.

To top it off, I box my quaddie numbers in the last for 10%, numbers 1-2-3-4-5-6-7. Press confirm, bet rejects for some reason. Got to do it again. In all the stuffing around they jump. Bang, divvy $8300

Gee it's hard enough picking them out, and there's always hard luck stories. But today was just absolute stupidity.

    Northam tomorrow I suppose :)
