    Spot on!

I don't know why WA chose to bowl first either when their strength this season has been batting first and defending totals (4 times, 4 wins).

    Agree with that synopsis.

Pretty poor showing from a team that is meant to be ranked #1 in T20s (although their recent form hasn't been good, only one win and one no-result in ten T20s this year and lost 3-0 to SL, who we recently beat 3-0). Lucky for Pakistan, that first T20 was abandoned at the SCG (after we were dominating), otherwise we would have overtaken them at the top of the rankings.

T20 RANKINGS (teams playing in 2020 World Cup)
    1 Pakistan 270
    2 Australia 269
    3 England 263

    6 New Zealand 254

7/53 in the 2nd innings last match, 7/41 in the 2nd innings today, WA will do well to save a 2nd consecutive match, this time against NSW at the SCG.

    NSW 8d/444 & 0d/98 - Smith 103, Henriques 91
    WA 191 - Short 51, Cummins 3/31, O'Keeffe 3/36

The three Tests played over the weekend were all won by the home team and all won by an innings (India becoming the first team to win four consecutive Tests by an innings, two vs South Africa and two vs Bangladesh).

    AUS (580) beat PAK (240 & 335) by an inns & 5 runs
    IND (9d/347) beat BAN (106 & 195) by an inns & 46 runs
    NZ (9d/615) beat ENG (353 & 197) by an inns & 65 runs.

Australia move back up to second in the ICC Test championship. The top two teams after six Tests series (three home and three away) will play off in the final at Lord's in June 2021.

    ICC TEST CHAMPIONSHIP
    1 India 360 (played 3 series)
    2 Australia 116 (currently playing 2nd series)
    3 New Zealand 60 (played 1 series)*
    4 Sri Lanka 60 (played 1 series)

    7 West Indies 0 (played 1 series)
    8 Bangladesh 0 (played 1 series)
    9 South Africa 0 (played 1 series)
    * The NZ v ENG series isn't part of the Test Championship

    Fairly standard start for Stoinis.

When he made that ODI century for Australia (146* off 117 balls v NZ at Eden Park in 2017), I think he was only 5 off 20 balls, then 14 off 35 balls. By memory, Australia were 5/54 (chasing 287) when he came in at #7, ended up losing by just six runs. Hazlewood and Stoinis shared a 54-run partnership for the last wicket, with Hazlewood not facing a single delivery!

The required run rate isn't an issue, WA just need to not lose wickets.

    WA 3/109 (26) - Marsh 58* (68), Stoinis 27* (57).
