R1: Maximum Demand is probably able to get across Quick
Stride then hand up to Golden State. His last couple have been good and is
suited in this field, gets his chance to win even with poor stats at the
distance. There is a chance jnr wants to kick through to hold out Golden State
on Pick My Pocket which would probably bring them both undone. Jimmy Mack and
As Happy As Larry are the two that would be laughing under that scenario but
even if its slowly run they can be put into it.Tip: No7 Golden State.
EQ:7,8,10. No Bet.

R2: Race changes with the scratching. Think Extradite gets a
really soft lead, not sure he can win but has to go in off the likely trip. It’s
a class drop for Our Rhythm N Blues, probably breezes, just want to see him do
it. Lightning Jolt 3rd up sitting 1,1 is super dangerous and I have
been waiting to see what Saleahs Command can do from a sit, has to go in as
expect it to love the soft run. Tip: No5 Our Rhythm N Blues. EQ:3,4,5,10. No
Bet.

R3: Interested to see if Tanaka Eagle has a crack for the
front, Crocodile Kid is crossable. Theo Aviator has to be very hard to beat. If
I was leading I would be happy to hand up to him and try for second. Still a
really big winning chance in the breeze but gives a blowout chance to Back To
The Beach sitting on his back. Tip: No5 Theo Aviator. EQ:4,5. Bet: Back To The
Beach
opened up at silly prices, I missed the top price but got a small bet on
at double figures. Theo in a place all up.

R4: Expecting this to be a run on race with the 1,2 and 3
likely to cut each other up early. Of those Argyle Red is the one I give the
most chance to if it could lead. Love Roman Aviator here, straight into the
moving line, move into it whenever Aldo wants, Get on. A bit worried Mighty
Santana might work forward early and spend its tickets, if going back can win.
The other one is Rock Mer Over, grade drop, Jnr back on. Tip: No10 Roman
Aviator. EQ:3,5,6,10. 100% costs $96, probably an over spend. Bet: Roman
Aviator Each Way all day and something small Bee Seventeen because I’d spew up
if he won @$80+ and I wasn’t on.

R5: 1,2 and 3 all have pretty similar early speed. None of
them are that strong so probably won’t want to tussle for too long so Brown
should have no troubles betting Its Rock And Roll to the top. He will be hard
to beat but needs to improve on his last start. Opposed to that While They Pray
was massive last start. Similar to Roman Aviator he can move into it whenever
Voak likes, shows up in the same form can’t see them beating him. Tip: No11
While They Pray. QD:4,11. Bet: While They Prey in the place all up.

R6: Ocean Ridge to cross with James Butt getting up outside
him really easily. From there he can outstay him and hold the others off. Tip:
No6 James Butt. QD:3,6,9. Bet: I’m pretty keen to back James Butt, probably
gets out towards $4. He also goes in the place all up.

R7: Pretty keen on ideal liner to be the last shot at them
in this. How does Caviar Star win this? If it goes to the breeze early one of
the 2 or 3 will run past it but if it doesn’t how does it run over both of
them? Tip: No3 Ideal Liner. QD:2,3. Bet: Ideal Liner Each Way.

R8: Illusionation has been racing well from poor draws, gets
the draw tonight, should be winning. Likely to cop a bit of pressure from La
Sulieman but it shouldn’t be sustained as it should be clear pretty quickly he
can’t get across. Leftrightgoodnight gets a good trip to add to his 1 placing
from his last 1 million and 1 starts. Tip: No1 Illusionation. QD:1,10. 100%
costs $24. Bet: At the prices have to go 1by3 on Leftrightgoodnight.

R9: It’s a great little race the trot, probably worthy of a
spot earlier on the card. A long way from being an expert but I thought of
Balmoral Boy found the top early and possibly handed up to Spud then he could
run a race out in front. Tip No5 Spud. Bet: Going to have a couple od dollars
on Spud.

R10: Would love for it to be competitive to get a better
gauge on where some of these are at but I think Howard Hughes will just take it
up and win. Tip: No5 Howard Hughes. Bet: Try and steal another 5-10% with Howard
Hughes rounding out the place all up.

Hopefully the cricket is all over quickly and some punters head across the river to create a bit of atmosphere for the last few races.

I assume JJ your suggesting hand up to Ocean Ridge.
I hope they don't, only start he has had to work finished 5th over 1750 similar class.
James Butt I could understand but handing up to Ocean Ridge, well the they are driving to run a place at best.
Does my head in this incessant handing up the lead to supposedly superior horses,, 50k race take them on and see what they have to offer.

Usually I don't like to indicate what I would bet on in any particular race because my selection and bet type is subject to change......right up till the "event closed" explanation appears for the failure to get on.
Also ..whenever exposing your thought processes in selection to others I find you are almost obliged to justify them thereby exhausting the mind and taking away from the enjoyment.
So...any declaration of preference from me is usually about something that I have noticed out of the corner of my eye during some race or other that leads to a feeling that "such and such " is a real chance at 66/1
After a perusal of tonights GP fields I must say ...tonight is not one of those nights....although Major Spoilt is an underrated conveyance, way overs and with a bit of luck .....

Haven't seen the race, so curious to see what transpired, have been on him in novelties a few times over the journey, been quite good to fairly poor in that time, was gifted third at a 100/1 the last time saw him live, the night Voaky inexplicably came off the pegs behind Marquisard, but if 2000/1 was offered about Rabchenko from gate seven would've said - not enough!

Morgan Woodley rarely gets much praise, outstanding driver in my book. Always looked a natural in the cart that bloke. Was hellishingly like a young Chris Lewis when first starting up as a reinsman. Just not quite gone on with it.

Came close to driving nearly the longest priced winner ever one night - Change Of Address - it was 200/1 and that was on Tabtouch! Only went down in the shadows of the post.

Yep he does a good job, finding it hard nowadays to get good drives.
Would love to see him driving for a stable like Bondies.

Talktumeyourmajesty last night reminded me of a horse Tony Hynam I think took off Jess Moore years ago. Wasn't much good for Jess but Tony Hynam got it and they just used to let it run out in front.
From memory went to free for all and won a couple.
Flashy chestnut I think one of those Arania horses I think, anyone remember it's name.

More then likely have it wrong but a good front running horse by Scottish Arania was a liver chestnut? Horse called make my day but think miles had that one

Reckon another race they, couldn't work out who's who at the zoo.----- helped the first four carryover pool in reaching 59k. in the next race.4.

Without seeing a head on I think it’s a bit harsh Woodley got 12 days for interference in the trot. Yes he was going into a tight spot but Lewis was also angling his horse off the pegs into the moving line where it didn’t look like there was a spot. Again without seeing the head on it looks like he is at least equally at fault if not more.

Looked 50/50 to me Gilgamesh seen a lot worse go unpunished.
All depends what was said in stewards room.

Morgan looked a bit stiff .....Nigel came back into his face on the Geezer at the psychological...when initially it seemed as though Morgan was going to be able to drive forward and in before ACL got to the position inside him.

For some reason, the owner text messaged me this morning to say it was Captain Arania that he raced with Tony Hynam.

I hear there could be a very interesting inquiry into a race Friday Night and interviews from investigators are happening.  If the jungle drums that are beating are true lets home this sh*t gets stamped out in a real hurry.

    From the stewards report

    Race 3 - Westral Pace

Acting on information received the stewards commenced an investigation prior to this race which involved questioning a number of licensed persons and examining their mobile phones.Investigations are continuing

Yeah, It seems it will be swept under the carpet because if true would be very detrimental to the industry and the person/people involved.

Same with the new EPO like drug they found in the USA.  I fear some trainers in the West will be a smidge worried at the moment.
  • ChariotsonfireChariotsonfire    2,829 posts
Why open an inquiry and sweep it under the carpet 2LTW?
  • 2lifetimewinners2lifetimewinners    508 posts
Swept under the carpet might have been the wrong term.
Wet Lettuce Leaf penalties would be more accurate

    My Apologies.
