Hi Chariots, Was that a cost cutting exercise? If so they have lost the plot whoever they maybe...

I believe that Giddyup have lost most of their contracts although I also understand that RWWA are still on board for the time being.

Not entirely disappointed I must say as now I can do the form at my leisure without having to meet deadlines.

May you post them on Turf Talk? Would be great as there is less punters punting on the trots on this forum.. Thank You..

If you want a good laugh - have a look at the replay of the last race at Launceston Harness- Tab Touch have got the replays

I unfortunately  backed  the no  9  horse Weerrook Harry ( and so did plenty of other 8s into 5s)- with Troy Madden in the bike - its in the pink colours - its in the 1 /1 sit - coming in at the top of the straight for  the bell - when he started turning his head around quickly - i suppose to see if something was going to come out from behind him

Then i watched the replay again - and i counted how many times he turned his head around from the top of the  straight to the winning post - 16 blooody times - - and then hooked it 3 wide a mile too early - Lonny is a big track

    What a blooody hick

Some interesting turnover figures at Pinjarra yesterday.

    Race 4 win pari-mutuel $4,500 Betfair $116,000 (matched $58k).
    Race 7 $3,400 Betfair $96,000 (matched $48k).

    Sign of the times.

I see Vic Harness  has moved to a regional basis - because of the obvious situation

9 tracks and 6 regions - basically whatever town you live in - you can only race at 2 designated tracks - and they are going to spread the prizemoney across the 9 tracks

Lance Justice - the Trainers- Drivers president is very happy with it

Hearing that Alta Christiano no longer with us. Would be a great loss to breeders, shaping up as a brilliant sire.

I hear some owners were at Byford Trials yesterday to watch their horses trail
Surely in this climate they should be dragged over the coals.

Be nearly as silly allowing a 12 race  card gallops at pinjarra on a Monday which is a harness day. at pinjarra  suppose can get both codes  in one hit.

Not sure about that, as heard was local police there to ensure all above board?

Anyhow, as an owner I was impressed how quickly the replays were available online so I could watch the trials. Full marks for that.

With no on course totes and attendance and TABs closed probably makes no difference.

Just in and around town, unnessary increase on the same day ,garages etc.with a trainer having at galloper in race1  then across to the trots, just thought could increase the chance of.what we are trying to minimize ,what difference if they raced gallops on Tuesday.

Isee all 3 WA Racing codes - 20% cut to stakemoney - cant do much about because there income has gone down by half

i read an article last week by Peter Doherty - won the nobel prize - leading medical specialist - immunologist

Just my opinion after reading that - bar racing - i dont think there will be any sport for 12 months - till they get a vaccine

This weekends fields - some of them are already in

Big 10 race  card at Launceston - and the last race - race 10 is it a tough race - 11 horse field - numerous chances

But i will give you a quiet street corner tip - i reckon Ben Yole will train the winner of race 10 at Lonny  - there you go

HARNESS STEWARDS INQUIRY – TRAINER MR. LANG INWOOD (JUST A HORSE)
    MARCH 26, 2020
    HARNESS
RWWA Stewards yesterday conducted the inquiry into a report received from RWWA Senior Investigator Mr. Geoff Johnson in relation to an allegation that on Tuesday 17th March 2020, Mr. Johnson observed Harness Trainer Mr. Lang Inwood at his registered training premises stomach tubing JUST A HORSE which was nominated, and engaged to race in Race 5 at Gloucester Park, that evening.

After hearing evidence from Mr. Johnson, Mr. Inwood and RWWA Manager Veterinary Services Dr. J Medd, Stewards issued the following charges:

Charge 1 – RWWA Harness Rule of Racing 193 – Stomach tubing, atomisers and other devices

The particulars of the charge being that on Tuesday 17th March 2020, Mr. Inwood, at his registered training premises, did stomach tube the pacer JUST A HORSE, which was nominated to compete in Race 5 at Gloucester Park that evening.

Charge 2 – RWWA Harness Rule of Racing 196C – Administering Substances

The particulars of the charge being that on Tuesday 17th March 2020, Mr. Inwood did, at his registered training premises, administer the alkalinising agent “Neutralizer” (sodium citrate) by way of stomach tube to the pacer JUST A HORSE on the same day it was scheduled to race at Gloucester Park in Race 5, and accordingly did administer an alkalinising agent contrary to sub-rule (1) of HR196C.

Mr. Inwood pleaded guilty to both charges, and after hearing submissions on penalty, the matter was adjourned to enable Stewards to determine penalty.

The suspension of Mr. Inwood’s licences to train and drive applied as of 17th March 2020, pending outcome of the inquiry, continues to apply.

Granted give credit----The power to be are trying to keep the codes going, and are doing a top job. If it comes to a grinding halt, with the ownership side, with people losing jobs- etc. the recovery will be years.. but minmising contact in one place, what I was about with the participants ,, We see now field sizes are to max.14 in city and 12 in country, and no more then nine races to allow more room for social distancing in victoria. so imagine all barrier staff would wear masks when 6 or 7 hope into a van heading to the gates.

Couple of interesting reports, not sure about either of them tbh. American Brave looked a carve up for the stablemate. The other race, punters wouldn't have backed Mighty Santanna into fav if they knew its going to hand up to the stablemate. It certainly wouldn't of handed up to any others in the race.

RACE 3 – COWDEN THE INSURANCE BROKERS – THE CLARKE PACE. 2130MS

AMERICAN BRAVE – An inquiry was opened into the performance of AMERICAN BRAVE and tactics adopted by G. Hall Jnr.  Of concern to the stewards was the tempo of the race in early and middle stages which was set by AMERICAN BRAVE when racing to the outside of THE BIRD DANCE and that AMERICAN BRAVE gave ground from the 600 metres to finish eleventh, beaten 130 metres.  G. Hall Jnr stated the gelding was stirred up in the preliminary and he had no pre race intention to lead the race however the horse took charge at the start and he was unable to steady him.  He added entering the home straight on the first occasion he tried to move to the marker pegs and take a trail on THE BIRD DANCE but the leader eased the pace and he was unable to move in.  He stated in hindsight had he moved to a marker peg position it could have been more dangerous as he was not sure he would have been able to control him if he was trailing another horse.  Trainer G. Hall Snr stated AMERICAN BRAVE had been working well at home and showing no signs of over-racing however it was now his intention to make gear adjustments including the addition of an anti-choking device.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the offside foreleg.  AMERICAN BRAVE has been stood down from racing until a veterinary certificate is provided and the completion of one re-qualifying trial.  The inquiry into the tactics adopted by G. Hall Jnr was adjourned to allow stewards to consider the evidence, review the previous races of AMERICAN BRAVE and examine all aspects of betting.  No date has been set for the resumption of the inquiry.

    RACE 4 – TABTOUCH PACE. 2130MS

    General:

    R. Warwick, Stable foreman for G. & S. Bond was questioned regarding the tactics adopted by MIGHTY SANTANNA (D. Egerton-Green) and JUSTASEC (R. Warwick) in particular the driving instructions issued to D. Egerton-Green.  R. Warwick stated MIGHTY SANTANNA was first up for five weeks and while he was confident he could lead the race in the early stages, connections were concerned about not only his fitness but him having a hard run.  He stated last preparation the gelding had been disappointing when beaten even after being able to lead with no pressure applied and prior to that the gelding has had some hard runs which can have a negative effect mentally.  He added the instructions issued to D. Egerton-Green were to surrender the lead, probably to JUSTASEC which connections consider to be a better performed horse.  R. Warwick added he may have erred in his own tactics on JUSTASEC and after working hard and racing wide for the most of the first lap, he should have remained two wide and sat off MIGHTY SANTANNA.

In considering the instructions issued and tactics adopted, it was noted that the first horse to challenge MIGHTY SANTANNA was ATHABASCAN, and that challenge was not sustained and had ceased by the first turn.  Thereafter there was no challenge for the lead until near the 1400 metres when JUSTASEC improved to his outside and to the lead. Stewards were of the opinion the tactics adopted by both D. Egerton-Green and R. Warwick were not unreasonable in the circumstances therefore no further action was warranted.

I tell you what Jay Jay and Curmudge wouldnt be out of place driving at Mildura tonight

Because of the restrictions - there are quite a few old time  trainers  having their 1st race drive for years and in multiple races

Talk about rusty - im not bagging them - but put your money on at your own peril

And you can see that their main objective - is to get around safely - and come off the track in 1 piece - understandable - as for race tactics - youvr got to be kidding

I  see Devenport harness abandoned Fri night meeting - and the reason i just read it - the premier has shut down all tassie racing for at least the next 4 weeks - and the participants are shattered

Financially crippled is probably the word - a gallops trainer - Scott Brunton got 75 in work - doesnt know what he is going to do

Ben Yole would have 60 in work

Would have loved for it to stay in the moving line on Golden Horshoes back like I expected but probably didnt hit the line hard enough anyhow.
