FLICKING THRU...

West Australian Racing
the 1991 racebook, karrakatta stakes day...won by lady kariba 53kg ridden by mark sestich...other winners that day, heroicity (beat old role), m'ladys jewel, i think it beat barossa boy, oaks won by barts india's dream...all the fillies carried 53kg., feverish.
there was a mt. barker meeting on..you'd recognise only a handful of riders.
strange to see sestich and harvey riding at 50kg.
i'll find a few jocks to put on the "where are they now" thread.
nothing like a bit of nostalgia...for me anyway...

Bridge of Friendship was the second leg of a (massive at the time) 3k double when I was a teenager. Financed an overseas holiday shortly afterwards. Collected on that horse many times. Fond memories.

The International jockey races were a novelty but interesting. As per that pic the jockeys wore colours that represented their country of origin. Proved a nightmare for callers at times.
