Scorchers have had a mini revival against some pretty ordinary opposition (Brisbane are awful this year, as are Hobart and the Renegades). We'll get to see if they're any good over the next three games... the Stars twice and Adelaide.
The 10 hour trip home from Hobart today won't help their preparation too much...

As I thought... pretty ordinary against good opposition.
last night they trounced the sydney thunder... who are pathetic. their bowling line up was full of nobodies. Needless to say they wont be playing finals.
I reckon the strikers will get over us too.

WA Women are chasing 224 v NSW in their WNCL One-Day game today at North Sydney Oval. If they win, they will play each other again in the final. If WA lose, QLD will play in the final instead.

NSW chasing their 21st WNCL title. Only two other states have won since it started in 1996-97, Victoria (twice in 2002-03 and 2004-05) and South Australia (2015-16).

    NSW 6/223 (Stalenberg 86, Litchfield 43*, Cleary 3/52).
    WA 1/13 after 4 overs

Rain has stopped play with WA on 2/99 (after 22.1 overs), Piparo 42*, Bolton 34*. If play weren't to continue, they'd get the win by DLS, currently 20 runs ahead. However, play is scheduled to recommence in a few minutes.

WA (6/227) chased down the target with 19 deliveries to spare, thanks to half centuries from Meg Banting (57*), Nicole Bolton (53) and Chloe Piparo (51). The final will be played on February 16.

Pretty fair opening knock of 105 off 66 balls he said he had been training the house down in quarantine in his room, no shit Steven B-)

Looks like just batting practice at the SCG but a lazy second consecutive ton for Smithy 104 off 64 balls today.
Big total but i reckon the Indians might give it a shake our quicks look a bit off aside from Hazelwood on Friday.

Scorchers looked very ordinary today. How is it we have kept Bancroft but let a bloke like Cartwright go (I know it was last year).

Nice to have Marshy get a score against us, NCN kill it last night, David make a good score. After getting a lot right in the early days of Big Bash those in charge seem to have got a fair bit wrong of recent times.

Hopefully I’m wrong and they can get on a roll in the 20/20 then the boys can focus on the shield in the back end of the summer.

Wow what a collapse by India today bowled out for a paltry 36 after taking a 53 run lead in the first innings.
Cummins & Hazlewood bowled absolutely superbly.
Hopefully day/night pink ball Tests become the norm into the future as it is a great spectacle.

    Carved them up!!
Was hoping Hazelwood might get the 10th wicket when he had 5 for 4..a 6 for would surely have been in the conversation for an all time test match record?

Not sure Wade is a Test opener, not even an opener at First-Class level but I've been saying that for a while. Once again the openers doing very little for Australia and the bulk of the work will have to be done by the middle order with the lower order chipping in. Here are some stats for you in regards to how Australian openers have fared in the past 20 Test matches. The Aussie opening batsman seem to be hot and cold which creates pressure on the middle to lower order batsman.

I agree their crapola to put it simply..plus Smithy getting a duck means we're behind the eight ball already.

I realise Davey Warner is a polarising character(i rate him and always have ever since the day he smashed Steyn to all parts of the crowd many moons ago)but he is sorely missed opening, even though the bowlers covered up that deficiency in Adelaide.
Joe Burns obviously needs to be punted/or Wade pushed out idk which really or do they both go when Warner comes back?
If yes who are our other in form opening options? i really dont follow the state cricket much..

Great effort Cam Green getting 45, under enormous pressure against a world class bowling lineup. This bloke has a big future ahead of him.

Good win India against Australia at the MCG after getting beaten in the first Test at Adelaide Oval. The Test series is all squared up now with one win each. This series could go either way. Test cricket at its best.

Sydney New Year's Eve. No more than 5 people allowed at a gathering.

Sydney Test Match and 24,000 are allowed to attend.

    Insanity!!!!!!!!

These state premiers are making it up as they go along.

30.000 have attended football and rugby games. How many covid positives? Nil

Today the media reports (and those w****** have plenty to answer for) after 30 to 40 thousand were tested in each state Sydney report 4 new covids and Melbourne 3. The borders are closed with dramatic overreactions. 4-3 is a soccer result not a devastating pandemic result.

    Dictatorial twats.
