Belmont 30/7/21

West Australian Racing
R1- Best Bet: CHOICE BID has been good enough at two runs back to suggest he can win a race like this. Breezed outside How’s The Serenity first up and wasn’t a bad effort to be beaten only 2.3L in a three way go for second. Last start led and ran time but was beaten by a better horse in Celebrity Man. He comfortably beat the third horse and there are no Celebrity Mans here. Leads again and gives a big sight.

R2- CAPTAIN SHARMANE has proven himself to be much better than Albany class at his last two. Two back was fresh at 1000m in a Saturday 3yo race when charging from last to get within 2.5L of Brooklyn Pier and Time Scale beating a subsequent Saturday winner. Wasn’t beaten too far in another strong 3yo race last start and looks particularly well suited back into Wednesday grade after the claim. Tactics will be interesting from the outside gate and think they potentially go forward.

R3- BANDALERA BEAU has yet to run a bad race in his short career. Sat deep the trip on debut and ran around in the straight but wasn’t beaten far before a solid second up win at this track and trip beating a subsequent winner in Guard The Safe. Last start was a forgive run when slow out, sitting last and running up bums in the straight. Still found the line and back into midweek grade looks hard to beat if he can jump well again.

R4- CRYPTO QUEEN finds a really good opportunity to get her second win. Has been runner up in stronger races at her last two and gets onto a genuinely rain affected track. Won very soft on debut down the Pinjarra straight on a soft6 and looks like she’ll only enjoy it more the softer it gets. She’s quick and will be looking to cross straight down to the fence and cruise.

R5- FREE SOLO was a little disappointing to the eye last week but may just be searching for an extended trip. Has always looked to have some ability and showed that two back with a powerful maiden win on a wet track in good time. His last start was a fast run race but don’t think he appreciated racing between horses. Backs up into this race which should have him primed for the staying trip and he gets a genuine tempo which should help.

R6- SUPER TEROITOA is consistent so now that he’s found form he should hold it. You know what you’ll get with this horse, he jumps, he rolls and he fights and seems to enjoy the wet. Has placed at each of his last two for Tyla Becker so like that she’s been kept on and this looks a little easier than his last couple. Should find a spot in the first two and don’t mind him leading or breezing if something wants to hold him out.

R7- BELLE OF LIBERTY was impressive first up in Kalgoorlie. While it may only have been Kal, she sat deep at the front of field on a fast speed and won well. Has always looked to have ability but has struggled with consistency in her career. If she can hold her form coming back into a class three she looks more than capable of making it back to back wins. Gets a much softer run just off the speed from three here to make things easier.

R8- PRINCE DEVOUTLY has a big class edge on his rivals here but has clearly struggled with soundness. Stable got two runs out of him last prep and was a super run after being slow out first up in 60+ grade. Ended up last but flashed home against some quality types before a poor run in 66+ grade. Immediately spelled and resumes in a class three as a class five winner. Very well placed after the claim and if he can jump and comes out running expect a big run.

R9- CRISTAL DANE is in career best form having strung three good runs together. Seems to run her best races sitting deep and making searching runs having placed in the Sky Final when making a four deep run and when winning well last start after coming three deep off a strong tempo. Gets what should be another solid tempo and another wide gate to help her and she seems to like wet tracks.

    Good to see Train back after being derailed last Saturday.

    I will have a crack at two;

    R6 Lucy Da Grey. No luck last start but battled on and not far away. Apprentice claim helps. Best Bet.

    R9 Nelson's Flight. Last run was too bad to be true. Big improver. Each Way special.

    by golly young holly watson is riding well...hope she keeps her head as the world could be her oyster.
    talking of apprentices, the 3kg claimer jett stanley does not get many opportunities, i thought he'd be knocking offers back...maybe he has personality issues.
