Perth hospitals went into code red while the ambulances were ramped up as the Boocoasters were taken in to get their annual patch up work, whilst the rest were left to graze at Maccas. A few decided to have a coke. >:)

    oh Hendo....surely you Jest!?!?!?!

At least our boys had a coke. Rather than the Pies, having a choke and Dorkers and Cats players doing some coke.

Will be interesting to see where Skinny Cameron goes?

AhChee and Hutchinson drained every inch of their abilities to stay in the system and contribute so well. I thought Hutchy may have had another year or two in him as a back up player to be bought in when required, based on his end of season few games.

Vardy played 3 seasons too many...as i think he mentally retired after the grand final!!!!

But still no big names...no big salaries.....in my opinion = No Big changes to the plan for next year :-(

Bell said the club was rapt to appoint Murphy as he was a strong advocate for the womens game.and respected for his leadership in the AFL.  His probably safe for a few years with his mate Garlick the Ceo. Stand him in the water at Kwinana horse beach over summer might even get a season out of him.

Bob's favourite tune is It's Cryin Time Again ...still bursts into tears when the 2016 GF is mentioned. At least he won't have to worry about GF losses at the Dorkers ..... they ordered a new premiership window last year and ended up with a set of louvres.

    Louvres are in vogue Curmudgeon
Eagles ordered a premiership window and got Tim Kelly.
Now stuck with a bunch of fading curtains.

I went as a neutral (I'm a Richmond supporter) to the Preliminary Final. Melbourne were far too good. Geelong old and slow. Big crowd too...58,599

The 83 point loss to Melbourne is Geelong’s biggest loss in a final since the club’s 118-point loss to Richmond in the 1969 Semi-Final.

Plenty of window sale talk...don't think the mob from Mineral Resources Park should be too smug, the windows they have for sale are jammed shut with rust from too much exposure. And I think Geelong, who have provided their coach with a rolled gold list of readymade superstar players on request year in year out, would have to be very let down that Captain Grumpy of the Slickback hair style far better suited to someone 30 years younger in a James Dean movie, has been spectacularly unsuccessful in delivering premiership silver to Kardinya Park. Other coaches, working with far less than Scott, have been regularly given the "Don't Come Monday" advice over the years yet remarkably, he is still in the drivers seat. Think they may have a few spare windows of various vintages laying around.
Brisbane's windows also briefly appeared in the for sale section for a day or two this week but no buyers.....maybe another year of use, maybe not...depends on how well some of the wounded soldiers recover. And as far as Robert Murphy is concerned, having read his book and have watched him over many years, I think Fremantle should be delighted he is joining them and any "tears" he shed would have been tears of joy for his beloved doggies, not ones of self pity. I thought that was truly a lousy comment.

    Re last nights game.
Those older players for Geelong Selwood Danger etc were simply outplayed by young Melbourne midfield. They were way too slow and swamped when they did have the ball. It is becoming glaringly obvious that clubs with older lists can’t keep up with the younger brigade.
Reckon those clubs with ageing lists would have been shaking in their boots last night.
This years draft will be very interesting.

Why is Nat Fyfe conducting interviews after the game? Surely something like this would be invaluable for someone in the actual media..

Melbourne were awesome last night. Stating the obvious I know.
They are a well drilled unit who seem to have destiny on their side.
Geelong looked slow. Their win over GWS was false economy.
Melbourne’s defence has been the best all year and last night again they were sensational.
It was almost too good a win and maybe last night was Melbourne’s false economy, but they certainly look the goods.
The $1.57 I saw for them to win the flag looks a good bet I reckon.

Didn’t see the interviews…. thank god. “brand Fyfe” is setting himself up for life after footy in the media.
That could mean we have “brand Fyfe” “Ross the Boss” and “bandicoot Pavlich” all on the screens at the same time. Thank god my tv remote has a working “mute” button.

The "Never Tear Us Apart" song was played before the opening bounce as it usually is at Port Adelaide home games. Then the Western Bulldogs proceeded to tear Port Adelaide apart.

Once again isolating team comes out and blows the home side away.

LSWFL had a grand final in Manjimup yesterday, Bridgetown narrow winners over Boyup Brook in a fantastic game, Bridgetown the double with a win in the Ressies over Deanmill and Imperials 2 point winners over the Mill in an epic Colts GF. There was no allocation of tickets to the corporates, no reserved parking except ACROD reservations,  there was no pre-game fuel up and feed for the sponsors, there were no media nuffies clammering for free passes for their kids, there was no gravy train of paid officials (one part time paid administrator only) .........there were dozens and dozens of volunteers preparing oval surrounds, manning the gate, doing the scoreboard, running game day, serving food and drinks, cleaning up afterwards.....all local umpires across all 3 grades. The gates opened at 6am, there were lines of cars ready and waiting as this was a grassroots footy event available to ALL of the public. We optimistically printed off 3000 wrist bands in the hope the public would support footy after last years Covid non fixture......well, they did, we ran out of wristbands. $15 bucks for adults, $5 bucks for 12 to 18's and little kids free of course. Who knows how many turned up and some probably jumped a fence or two but it was a huge day, thoroughly enjoyed by all.....and probably unnoticed by the hordes of overpaid wannabees who manage "the peoples game" at AFL House HQ in Melbourne.......unless the tuned into Radio MMM 900 AM who provided a full description.......and not an Eddie or any other bucket mouthed media dickhead within earshot.

West Australian today good story on Krakouer Bros. Forgotten champions of WAFL and VFL.
    Good memories.
But please do not mention Krakouers and Tim Kelly in the same sentence. Absolutely ruined a great article.
