Differences of opinion abound. Form assessor on HRA has Mister Smartee at $1.75 and Never Ending at $2.70.

Markovina will be all over the $26 Skylord if he can get it.

Interesting Im The Black Flash avoiding the feature, my guess is to split them up from the stable.

They almost need a running tally of standings for entry to the derby in these couple of weeks lead up.

Much closer to the mark Rocket. If I had opened Never Ending at $2.70 my bookmakers stand would have been pushed onto the track.

If Mr Smartee leads I will be on Skylord e/w all day long but it needs to be put into the race however I doubt neither will happen.
NE leads and the rest wait til derby and barrier draws.

Yes - ive got a genuine question if im allowed to ask it on this forum - and its to Chariots only - so ive got no interest whatsoever in anyone else replying to it - because its a bookmakers question - and Chariots was the leading harness racing bookie in Aust at 1 time

But when you have a race like this - basically on face value a 2 horse  race the 4 and the 1 - however you just aernt  totally convinced what is going to happen at the start - especially the tactics

Ler me explain that - this is my view if  again im allowed to state it - but Frid race - say it is exactly the same - but there is one massive difference - the No 4 is trained and driven by someone  totally different - say Barry Howlett or Mike Reed or Ross Oliveri - so S McDonald who can be a sit sprinter driver  is no longer driving the 1 horse - and Hall Jnr is driving it - well under that scenario my view - the no 1 - they give no consideration whatsover to taking a sit on the 4

But that isnt the situation - thus you know its an ok race 50k - but its not the big plums - look NE its got a massive boom on it - its $1.14 or whatever - look its not a bad horse to follow - so you as a bookmaker think to yourself - im not totally convinced what is going to happen at the start - thus ive got  no interest re betting on the race - i will bet massive unders both the 1 and 4 - i dont want to write a ticket on either

Did you in basically 2 horse races think and bet like that - when you wernt 100% sure how the race would be run - especially the start - that is my question to Chariots only

A difficult question to answer Marko as it all revolves around the intent on the horse drawn one. If you are confident that it will hold the lead you would adjust your prices accordingly, lay both and hope for a result. If you put up say $1.50 Never Ending and were swamped with bets it would become very obvious that Mister Smartee was definitely taking a sit and your book was now very lopsided.

It is a real conundrum as you are at a disadvantage from those that know what the No one horse is doing.

And that is where integrity goes out the window particularly in pacing.

    Skylord still $19 following scratching.

I see S McDonald has been given the fick off the number 1 horse and Hall jnr is back on it

Looking at its 3 Aust runs - had gate 1 - 1st 2 runs - it began like an absolute slug at Pinjarra - then next start it came out moderately - but nothing went near it so it kept the lead - and then from a middle gate - when it was a very good win - it just ambled out

So from the home straight start - where horses widely drawn can ping out - then i think there is a real  possibility that it gets crossed at the start and it is $1.32 fave

As for Skylord  and good luck to the sisters who bought it - WA Bred - they have pocketed some very  nice stakemoney - and i hope they win a hell of alot more with it - but they are average rated drivers

And another average driver was David Aitken - he might even have a HP Drivers premiership to his name but i couldnt careless because he was average - and when he had  LennyTheShark - they said to him why is Chris Alford driving it - and he said - if you want to win the very best races - then you must have the very best driving them

And that is my thought with SkyLord - if it had a topnotch/champion driver - i would rate its chances higher in Fridays race . It is just a pity Michael Grantham has moved to the gallops - because i thought he was a sensational young driver - natural lightweight - ex jockey like Gath and Demmler .

Thus if a M Grantham - an absolute top notch driver was driving it Frid night - i think it would have a better chance

They are just a couple of my views on Frid nights big race

The same David AIKEN that has driven 1,429 winners? And has a 41% win/place strike rate?

Just a different view but that is way above "average".

Honestly  mate - the moderators should give you a clip

Andrew Peace had probably a great strike rate as well as a driver - what did he do - amble around 3 wide  for 700 metres to finally get the breeze - and his horses were a mile too good and won - that doesnt make him a top notch driver - you and your blooody stats

Aitken was not  a top notch driver - if he was he would driven his own top class horses - instead he opted for Gavin Lang - Chris Alford and Nathan Jack

How about just posting your own stufff mate

I’m just surprised Markovina didn’t pull B.Gath out again. Maybe Jocelyn should get him to drive Skylord

Rocket City is the ine with the gate speed but is drawn right beside the fave. Also its last effort leading this trip wouldnt be enough to get it done. Possibly Lusaka comes out too and if Rocket crosses maybe it hands up to Lusaka completely changing things.

Its gone from a no bet race to a different no bet race.

Opinions mean nothing unless supported by facts....actual facts, not dart throwing guess work. For starters, the guys name is Aiken, not Aitken, for seconds, he won not one but two NSW Driving Titles, 1989 and 1993, and to win 151.5 races in 1989 including including 115.5 at metropolitan meetings, I suspect he deserves a bit more respect. And Andrew Peace must have ambled up 3 wide to the breeze for 700 metres 203 times when he was the leading driver in Australia, also in 1989. A great year for "average" drivers
