So moving onto Pinjarra today , 9 race card , well any decent form analyst , there is 4 of those 1100 races , plus 2 standing starts , so theres 6 races we dont bet on , plus a 2 yr old race ( not bagging the 2yr olds ) but they only have had 1 start each so got no interest in that

That leaves 2 races to bet on  -Race 6 im quite keen on Ima Tiny Dancer - no 7 e/w  @4.20, got 1st class form , i just hope its driven in an aggresive manner like the breeze

And the fave at $1.45 , i didnt like how it hit the line - in its last race - re the final 60-70 metres , thus i think it is beatable
Marko, spot assessment of Race 6 yesterday. Loved the way Voaky had a look at the top of the lane when he knew something was going to swamp him out wide, in fact he only finished 3rd in the end.

Just an observation re the Padberg stable , they have allways done a consistent/good job  winning their share of races , see they got another one at GP last night

But my view was , alot of their horses needed cute/soft , peg type runs etc

However in my view that has changed dramatically in the past 2-3 months , their horses have toughened/strengthened right up , that stable is in career best form re how their horses are racing

Redcliffe Trots race 1 - bit of a bizzare race - number 1 and fave trailing the leader at the 350 maybe drifted half off the pegs ( very strange move with a sprint lane in operation ) - and the 7 horse ( winner ) 3 pegs - its only a side on shot - but seemed to go way inside the pegs to end trailing the leader -

I thought the stewards would have a  real good look at that - but the interim totes - wernt interim for too long - and became all paying
  • ChillinChillin    4 posts
    No

The 1 just came off the pegs and the 7 took its spot

Nothing but a poor drive on the 1

Suspended for unacceptable drive. Winner looked sore as a boil.

Pleaded guilty and got two weeks. I think that's enough. More than enough for a brain fade like that.

I was going to go into bat for Sanderson and say that the home straight at Redcliffe is short so the sprint lane isn't a big advantage. The Redcliffe straight is actually longer than GP. I think it is the sharp home bend that kills wide runners

Just on a side note - when reading the Redcliffe stewards report from last night

I noticed that Stephen Shinn ( of Pure Steel fame ) was on the panel

He has had stints nearly in every state

Dont know what panel he was on prior to coming to WA ( probably Vic ) then for a while he was actually Chairman of Stewards re Trotting in Tasmania and now in Qld

Garry Hall gets $300 fine for drifting off and letting his Mrs roll through to victory  :)) :D :-j
Its either one or the other. No fine nothing to see here or you chuck the book at him.

This is why no one wants to bet on the Trots.

"Trainer Mr J Prentice stated that JAWSOFLINCOLN tends to hang outwards
in its trackwork, and he was not surprised that when under pressure it
had shifted up the track given the circumstances of the race. He further
stated that he will now consider a bit change for future starts to
    improve its tractability."

Mildura 22 February 2022 - horse leading, hung out late

    Gawler 13 March 2022 - hung out

    Mildura 1 March 2023 - hung out

Those are just the starts it’s noted in stewards comments.

As a sport, we need to be better at not trying to tear others down.

Just watched Bunbury race 5, full field sprint race.

It goes against what those in charge seemingly believe makes for the fairest racing- opting for smaller fields over short distances arguing it give you a better/fairer chance.

I will forever argue that more runners creates fairer racing-drivers have to work for their spots generating its own tempo so you can actually run on from the back-as opposed to everyone strangle out in 61 home in 56 style racing it seems they want to constsntly push up for.

Was only a small field but the Manea Classic was a cracking race.

The Miki Taker remindes me of the terminator - lacked some dash but just kept getting up off the floor and coming.

Yes Ivory, by Dorman Creed, I have his complete racing record starting from his first win as a 3 year old at Kellerberrin on April Fools Day 1977.

What would you like to know?

Busy arvo pumping water water out at the footy club...remember water, yep, wet stuff.....a desperately short commodity at the moment. Can supply your answers later tonight.

Think he had an owner last name diletti, was just chasing his record and if you had any stories re the horse
  • JayJayJayJay    8,017 posts
Yes, L. Diletti was the breeder, from an almost exclusively non producing dam line. Hard to find anything in the family that won a race other than Elkaien.

Only raced on as a 4 and 5 year old and then just disappeared. Some old names pop up in his record. 2nds to Black Sign, King Craig, Kirkie, Callbrite and victories over Custer, King Craig, Boobiana, Callbrite, Prince Fandango and Nixon's Law for 6 wins, 5 seconds and a third as a 4 year old in the 77/78 season.

Came back as a 5 year old (1978/79) with 2nds to Aquilla and Flashing Ardri before beating Chryso Mou. Runs were very well spaced (injury issues) then finished with 3 wins in a row ...a 2.19 mobile, a 2.19 stand off 10m beating Callbrite and a 2.18 mobile beating High Moore to finish on a 2.17 mark. Never raced again. Career total of 11 wins and 7 seconds from not a lot of starts.

I can't recall much about him other than he was a very decent horse. Pretty sure we raced him a few times with Gleaming.

Shocking return to punting for me last night bt going to go again.

R5 No3 Mister Ridgewell EW. Respect the 1 but think it is grossly unders @$1.55. I'm going to assume Mister Ridgewell works across then sits on the Decampo horse. His forms lines just seem far superior to me to be worth that EW play.

R6 No8 Duardo win. Just works out that i'm taking on the same form line again and again betting against the likely leader but off its last effort i'll back Duardo to be able to get over them from the back of the field.

Wagin Club rolling the dice for harness racing on Friday night by using race names to criticize the Labor Party  over their live sheep export policy.. Biting the hand that feeds.

I am not sure about biting the hand, and regardless of what one thinks of the live trade export of sheep ( from what I see, I can't see a whole lot wrong with it but I may be dreadfully uninformed) but the wisdom of any club politicizing itself to this level is poor form. Imagine the justifiable uproar if Gloucester Park, for example, named races along the lines 'Build A Nuke For Spud" or "Vote Yes In The Referendum" or "Vote No To Gay Marriage" or "Covid Vax Kills Babies" or whatever. Each to his own but unwise in my view.
