With three wins in consecutive grand finals of the Inter Dominion Pacing Championships (2011, 2012, 2013), a recent 2014 winner of the Blacks a Fake in Queensland, two times Horse of the Year, a NZ Pacing Cup and Hall of Fame recognition - just to mention a few - the immortal champion "Quinny" appears as good as retired after the announcement came through a TAB Radio interview this morning with Gary Hall Snr.
Unidentifiable lameless has prevented the gelding from returning to training meaning the sun appears to be setting on a glittering $4,567,456 career featuring 58 wins in 111 starts.
His trainer said he never thought he'd have one in his care that would exceed the feats of The Falcon Strikes and is now certain Quinny will remain top of the mantle. After all that he has achieved Hall Snr believed now was the right time to bow out after near career-best performances in the Sunshine state and with nothing left to prove.
The retirement of Quinny ends a starstudded period for all WA codes with a long line of quality thoroughbred sprinters, Miata in the greyhound scene and finally Im Themightyquinn dominating the harness ranks for nearly five years.
Im Themightyquinn will retire in comfort in tandem with his trainer. "He'll remain here with me as long as he's still standing".
