The final 32 in Perth Turf Talk's Summer tipping competition have been decided. Noworries took out the minor premiership with an astounding 4 wins and 2 placings from 9 starts.

CPL found a cheque in 7 of 10 outings and finished a comfortable second.

With over a $64 return difference from 1st to 32rd the class is tipped to rise to the top, however upsets in Raceday finals have been a common theme. The man responsible for most, RIO, will be there again post season and once again enters the finals without a win to his name.

Resident tipster Scott Embry will also be in the running having finished 21st, whilst the ol' faithful rustyh had his best tipping performance for many a year finishing inside the top 32.

Raceday's Summer finals will work like such for this week.

Race 1 : Top 5 placed remain in the running

Race 2 : Top 4 placed remain in the running

Race 3 : Top 2 placed remain in the running

Race 4 : Winner remains in the running
+1 -1

And I'm blaming you for having to buy so much furniture for those 6 houses I bought with the winnings..
    :D :D

Even when the tipping has been so bad I've managed to just keep a positive return for the tips I've had. About sums up my punting in the past month as well..

Good luck everyone...Great comp, and in all seriousness I would easily play for nothing, it is just a great little tester every weekend..

3 winners , 2 seconds and a third not good enough. As usual did not fluke the longshot #-o

Not really - we all get $1 ew on each race.
If a player picks one winner and it pays $50 and $10 - he goes home with $60 in his pocket for his $16 outlay ( on 8 races).
If the other bloke picks 6 winners and they all pay $6 and $2.50 he goes home with $51 in his pocket for his $16 outlay.

Player 1 has made $9 more for the same outlay = winner -  its unique and I reckon its great - even though I keep getting rolled =))

I don't understand the method of calculating the new ratings :-B but I'm sure a few of the genius's amongst this motley crew would have given it the once over ;)

At a quick glace it would be appear to be your total amount collected in $$ plus 10 points for a win, 5 points for a second and 3 points for a third to give a greater bias to those who have won more races. take noworries as the example. He has collected $195.38 with 4 wins, 1 second and 2 thirds from his 10 starts. Thus his rating is 195.38 + (4 x10) + (1x5) + (2x3) to give a rating of 246.38.

Seems there was tipping on Wednesday this week, was this part of the finals tipping? It has affected the standings a little by the looks.

Nail biting because neither of us could pick anything all day! Eventually got beaten by the sub (due to the scratching of CPL's selection in the last and the favourite winning). #-o
