The lack of comments here show sadly were the current interest in the A League is at. Think I've caught about 15 mins of one game so far.

    1. Been overshadowed by Socceroos / Ange dramas
    2. NBL has gone past them
    3. It's only a week in - for mine, I listened to the Glory game whilst driving up from Douth on Sunday

I have been around football my whole life and the game is going backwards. The level of skill is just pharking aweful! The ball spends most of the time out for a throw in. Have a close look at Chris Harold and Scotty Neville, they cant pass two bloody yards without a turnover! The old NSL unfortuantly was better to watch, i have no readon why, it just was. Players like Scott Miller, Bobby 10, Vas, Vinko, Mori - these were class players who could play football and made it entertaining.

I vaguely remember the NSL ... that was when the Glory used to win trophies.

Very true. I can't say I've watched any of the games over the summer. With Sydney FC way out in front and Perth Glory barely in contention, it's hard to fake an interest in the A-League these days.

    LADDER (20/27 rounds completed)
    1 Sydney FC 49
    2 Newcastle Jets 38
    3 Melbourne City 33
    4 Adelaide United 29
    5 Melbourne Victory 26
    6 Western Sydney Wanderers 26
    7 Brisbane Roar 22
    8 Perth Glory 19
    9 Central Coast Mariners 17
    10 Wellington Phoenix 17

About the only thing still going for the Glory this season is that they will only have to travel twice in the last seven rounds.

    v Melbourne City, nib Stadium
v Western Sydney Wanderers, Spotless Stadium
v Central Coast Mariners, nib Stadium
    v Melbourne Victory, nib Stadium
    v Sydney FC, nib Stadium
    v Newcastle Jets, Newcastle
    v Brisbane Roar, nib Stadium

The FFA have also announced in the past week that they will expand to 12 teams for the 2019/20 season.

That makes it two A-League managers sacked in two days and now all four clubs that missed out on the finals this season will have new managers for the 2018/19 season.

    • Wanderers sacked Josep Gombau yesterday
    • Glory sacked Kenny Lowe this morning
    • Darije Kalezic left the Phoenix on March 8, Chris Greenacre is the caretaker coach
    • Paul Okon left the Mariners on March 20, Mike Mulvey will be the new manager

    ELIMINATION FINALS
    3-Melbourne City v 6-Brisbane Roar
    4-Melbourne Victory v 5-Adelaide United

    SEMI FINALS (next week)
    1-Sydney FC v lowest-ranked Elimination winner
    2-Newcastle Jets v highest-ranked Elimination winner

Plus, you can add Graham Arnold to that list, as he is leaving Sydney FC to take over managing the Socceroos after the World Cup.

In today's Sunday Times, they threw up the names, Robbie Fowler and Socceroos assistant coach, Ante Milicic, as possible replacements.
