I normally watch the races in silence on the laptop. I accidentally had the volume on for the race at Bunbury...And Dmac calls a photo for third place as it is so close.. And the winner had it easily about 30m's from the line yet he still couldn't glance back to get the 3rd place right..........Back to mute for me!!

how can you "accidentally" have the volume on, rio?

reckon the 2000m may see 11 seconds out...the old warrior Woodsville is into it up to his ears...

That call "photo for third" was embarrassing. The margin was minimal 3 qtrs of a length to the naked eye.
Save the flamboyant blah blah till you have called the last horse home Dmac.
I would describe that as very very lazy.

Anyone having doubts on 11 seconds not running the trip out today, keep in mind it ran 3rd beaten 2L behind zarantz and material man in the Bunbury cup last prep (over 2200)

I backed Roaring Trade at big odds at York on Monday, ran 4th didn't quite run out the 1100m.

I'll have another stab here back to the 1000m on the quick back up. Should lead and hopefully have enough for the finish, missed the 51's this morning back still back-able odds now.

Misses the kick, doesn't lead and to rub salt in the wounds the leader romps away :((

Had a tenner on Woodsville yesterday. Whether it won or lost wasn't going to make a huge difference to my life.

I can't really allege on here what I actually believe. Although I think I can say, that no rider would have taken on the leader like Lucy did, and not understand that her prospects of winning were zero.

So, assuming the best and giving her the benefit of a very weak doubt, that was the worst ride I have seen from Lucy in a long time. In fact, I'd like to know how a once top PERTH jockey, have to make that distinction between Perth and the Eastern States jockeys, could deteriorate so much in such a short space of time.

Does anyone know if the Stewards have opened up an inquiry into the ride?

Thanks JJ. Typical, state the obvious report.

Nothing about the fact that she took the leader on AFTER she got up outside the leader when she could have sat there. I don't think she wins anyway, but aren't jockeys supposed to give their horses every chance to win a race?

Or have I got it all wrong

Yeh Agreed, followed and been on the horse since its come over. Seems like a genuine stayer, i felt the increase in trip was always going to beneficial for it.

steady up you lot... if you look at the times, they werent actually going that quick in front. I thought lucy was entitled to stride up and put some pressure on. Although the extra 19m buggers up my basic figures a little.. they averaged 13 secs per furlong for the first 1400m. The fact woodsville only got beaten 2lens says to me they didnt really cut each other up in front.

compass point and hakuna matata went out a LOT quicker in the 2219m race before it.

someone smarter than me might be able to confirm?

Lucy had the chance to grab a breather from the 1200-900 after initially doing some work, but instead decided to put the pressure on to the detriment of Woodsville and ES. I don't think it would have changed the results but I agree with BL in that it was a poor ride

Just be careful when u bag Lucy as its a comment that will haunt you for at least a couple of months. U just need to wait for when she rides a few winners and someone comes on here and shoves it up ya....

You've got it all wrong. Woodsville went much slower than some of its recent good performances. The ride could've been improved by letting it run, not the exact opposite.

she should have kicked past 11 seconds, which she could have quite easily....a brain fade maybe...
