Any feedback boys ?
Tim Kelly went pick 24 last year. One year later Eagles are offering pick 20 and 22 for his services. Geelong playing hardball. Greedy f***ers.
Brisbane should play hardball with Beams. Pick 18 is not good enough imho.
Scully to Hawks a steal for 3rd round pick.
The "docker chip" has returned to Peter Bell now that he is back at the club. How can they say they want 2 first round draft picks for Neale yet won't do the same for Hogan ??? Obviously "Ross the Boss still doing the cobbling.

We don't need Beams, we need a key back (May).
How do Hawthorn so frequently steal players?

What the Cats are asking is fair, he is a proven AFL player now, not an unknown.

    Today will be interesting.

Neale, Hogan and Lobb deals done.

Neale officially off to Brisbane along with pick 30, Freo get picks 6, 19 and 55 in return.

Freo then use that pick 6 and pick 23 to secure Hogan. Melbourne give away pick 65.

Freo use picks 11 and that pick 19 from the Neale deal to secure Lobb. GWS give away picks 14, 43 and 47.

Looks like apart from Kelly, every other major deal got finalised.

    Beams back to Collingwood
    Shiel to Essendon
    Wingard to Hawthorn
    May to Melbourne

Beams deal - Collingwood traded picks 18, 56 and 2019 first-round pick, received picks 41 and 44 from Brisbane.

What an absolute joke the AFL/AFLPA has become, player contracts are not worth the ink they waste on signing them. Brisbane paid through the nose for Beams, both in giving up draft picks and a very, very heavy front loaded contract. He only played 2 games one season due to injury, Beams then professes great love for the Club at the F and  B night, a week later he wants to go "home" to Collingwood after wanting originally to "go home" to Brisbane....and all Brisbane get is pick 18 and pick 56???? and a throw at whatever Collingwood's first round pick is next year, probably around 20, and they had to give up 41 and 44 as well.
Brisbane received my membership cancellation about 2 minutes ago, which I have held for decades. AFL memberships and AFL Clubs....bah humbug, they can get stuffed. Loyalty and decency are two quantities fast becoming non existant in AFL Wonderworld.

It's even worse when you think to get Beams, Brissie gave up Pick 5 which turned out to be Jordan De Goey, Jack Crisp who hasn't missed a game in 4 seasons with the Pies and Pick 25.

There might be a lesson in this for teams not to put star interstate recruits on heavily loaded front-end contracts.

    Yes and no.
They have to spend a certain amount on salaries, so if got to make that amount up, can only give it to the new guy (new contract) really.
No doubt received some financial compensation from Collingwood as well (doesn't get reported).

True, but I also noticed a similar thing happened with Ablett at Gold Coast. He was reportedly on over $1 million a year and this dropped down to less than $500000 in the last year of his contract and he wanted to bail. It might be a psychological thing for players when their pay packet drops even though they've received it up front. Although Ablett ended up paying the Gold Coast back to get out.

    Fair point.
And exactly - there would be compensation written in to the contract should they not see it through.

give it a couple of years, it will be like that dream team comp that everyone plays... you can trade players mid season, sub them in and out each week, based on how they play the week prior!  :-O
