Close game at the Perth Arena this afternoon. Coming back from being nine points down with just over three minutes remaining, the Wildcats managed to get over the line, beating United 94-93. Terrico White nailing the final three-pointer with eleven seconds remaining. Despite their superior shooting (64% from the field as opposed to the Wildcats' 45%), United were on the wrong side of the turnover (18-8) and foul count (25-15).

    Hawks are terrible.
Struggle to beat a SEABL team...

Wildcats suffer their biggest ever loss at RAC Arena, losing to the Taipans, 76-99. Their shooting tonight was horrible, only 32% (28/86) from the field compared to 57% (39/68) for the Taipans.

It's the second consecutive time they have lost at home to the Taipans (lost 79-81 in January).

Only the fifth time (out of 119 games), they have lost by 10+ points at Perth Arena.

    23 points, 76-99 v Taipans, tonight
    15 points, 75-90 v Bullets, December 2016
    12 points, 68-80 v Taipans, Semi-Final (Game 2), March 2015
    11 points, 84-95 v 36ers, January 2017
    10 points, 70-80 v Breakers, October 2014

I know you should never write off a champion but gee the Wildcats have looked very very ordinary in 2 of their 3 games so far- absolutely dreadful last night, very lucky to get over Melbourne in round 1 by 1 point who had 3 of their starting 5 (Prather, Goulding & Barlow) out injured and probably just a pass mark against Illawara who are to say the least only average at best.

After a couple of bad losses to Cairns and Adelaide in the last two rounds, the Wildcats bounced back with a 96-77 win over the Kings tonight at Perth Arena. But talk about a game of two halves, the Wildcats led 70-45 at H/T (outscoring the Kings 40-18 in the second quarter), then it went all defensive in the second half, the Kings outscoring the Wildcats 32-26 in the second half.

So it's a Kings v Wildcats Grand Final series after they both won their Game 3 matches tonight. Kings beat United 89-87 and Wildcats beat Taipans 93-82.

I still can't believe that United scored 38 consecutive points against the Kings in Game 2, in their 45-point win (125-80) on Monday night, after they blew a 16-point lead midway through the final quarter in Game 1.

    SCHEDULE (all times are WST)
GAME 1 in Sydney (Sun Mar 8 2pm)
GAME 2 in Perth (Fri Mar 13 6:30pm)
GAME 3 in Sydney (Sun Mar 15 2pm)
GAME 4 (if req'd) in Perth (Fri Mar 20 6:30pm)
GAME 5 (if req'd) in Sydney (Sun Mar 22 2pm)

sydney have bailed on the rest of the finals series...
given its a finals series.... and its 2-1.... there is NO other option but to award it to the Wildcats.

Im stunned the NBL even needed time to think about who the winner will be...

Strange that they're unwilling to charter a flight. There's less money in the local league than I realised. I thought Bogut was a big shot?
