By my count - both WA teams play 3 Saturday nights at Optus (including 1 x derby), which work in with Belmont season.

    Sweet!

West Coast have a 4th Saturday night game, but it is in April (whilst still at Ascot)

AFL obviously don't care about the travel factor for teams in the West.
Why wouldn't they schedule two away games every year against the Adelaide teams for both Eagles and Dockers ?
Not sure any other team in the AFL would give a stuff about this arrangement.
Both Eagles and Dockers would appreciate the two and a half hour flight plus reduced time difference as opposed to going to Qld or Tasmania.
I am strong on a conference system and today's Eagles travel announcement reinforces my thinking.

Not that I give a sh!t re the fate of the two WA teams, but I do actually agree with you..........(Conference system)
    NE & SW Conferences.
Play every team once, and your conference opposition a second time each season.
Hardness of draw evens out over time as all teams go up and down in quality............except Freo.

17 wins should get you a top 2 finish based on previous years results.
Tim Kelly will not play in the 3/7/20 game away to Geelong coming off a 6 day break and playing at night due to "general soreness".
Nic Nat may keep him company on the couch as well.
We are here to win premierships, not cater to AFL boffins who want to boost TV ratings at the expense of fairness.
    Watch this space !!!

You didnt finish top 2 last year and the fat poster boy will sit out most games so he can flog his kiddie books and Kelly will go off the track so please dont set your sights to high young fella.
Watch the space between the top teams and the Wegirls.

Now please Oldhendo. The only way TK will run off track will be through dizziness, after running rings around the opposition. By the end of the season he will be sick of the sight of NNat putting the pill on his chest or for that matter wherever he wants it.watch the space , why how far do you think the Collwobles will finish behind us.?

Saw the "big black panther" on the news just now promoting his books to kids at Lake Monger pre primary. Probably this book will result in a few more thousand memberships.
Shame the current Brownlow medalist wasn't as active locally instead of taking instagram selfies in Colombia. God knows Freo need to reverse their membership drop off. B-) Ouch !!!
Maybe Jaidyn Stephenson can drag himself out of the TAB and spend his time more valuably. B-) Double ouch !!! Have I missed anyone ??? =))

See the AFL are putting on a State of Origin match pre season match to fund raise for the bushfire victims.
After procrastinating for many many years re returning to the S.O.O, their hand has been forced for this very good cause.
All players should make themselves available because of this cause and there won't be any of the "Mick Malthouse" roadblocks which effectively killed off the concept.
The timing of the game is where it should be ie pre season when we are hanging out for footy and most players should be fit.
This is the time of the year the game should be played going forward because on the back of this State of Origin match the concept will be alive and well.
I am salivating at the thought of Buddy lining up next to JK and being fed by the likes of Tim Kelly, Fyfe etc.

A WA vs VIC State Of Origin match would be salivating but I believe the VFL (afl) are looking at a VIC vs All Stars game instead which is not State Of Origin at all.

Hope being an "all star or allies" doesn't water down the interest and turn it into an exhibition like the NBA all star game.
If it was the Vics vs W.A at Optus (after all we did invent the concept) 60,000 crowd. Prime time into the eastern states. A fair dinkum contest. Giddyup.
But I suspect it will be a younger "bruise free" version of the Ted Whitten game. Ho Hum. I-)
