The Other Pinjarra Preview for 11/1/20 (still) by TMP

West Australian Racing
My best tip for the week is to watch the French versions of Agatha Christie on SBS 'Agatha Christie's Criminal Games'. Just watched Season 1 Episode 1 and looks like France is where men are men and women are women ; and Vive la difference.

Back to the serious side with a Pinjarra meeting again onSaturday; I remember this from a year ago.
At first the horses all seemed so even and a bit ordinary that I almost gave up.
But then things came into focus and a few chances emerged.

R/1 Here is a 2YO race over 1200m and no real form to go on; except the trialsmainly.
I jaust cannot work it out.

R/2 Nos. 1,2 and 9 are maidens that have been going round and round and....
So, I'll go for Mexicola. The runs I saw on replay showed me a big awkward horse with strength. Then the July trial showed something better. I am guessing he is right for this; hopefully now can race up front.

R/3 I'm looking at 5,7 and 9; not sure why Fire Sale is so short and a metrop winner Perceptive Miss is 9's over here!
The FK two look good to me Advocator and Lock Her In.

R/4 Nos 1 and 2 here. I'm Snippy Miss'd out after the last defeat and wonder about the rise to 1500m.
Call Again likes the track, is v lightly raced and ran well behind the up and comer Tycoon Storm last time.
There has been a forumhint for No Apology and I will follow that here.

R/5 The step up for Not to be Mist is another unusual distance hike in my opinion.
Because it is Pinjarra I like Superior Smile because he likes being up front even though not yet won at 2000m.
Nos. 4,5 amd 6 look interesting too. Rivalry Galore looks a real staying type; maybe this is too short too early; maybe not!

R/6 1,2 and 12 here.
Maschino Miss seems a long price at 6's for such a real promising type; Pinjarra should suit this leader type.
Distant Trilogy was a great run behind the topweight last time.
What an improvement by Put a Spell on You last start (was 3 wide the whole way).

R/7 Nos. 4,6 and 9 here.
Abbey Lane looks a cert on form; but it worries me that he does not seem to be a quick beginner; needed I think at Pinjarra.
Pagan Image is a bit of a sneaky one here. He was tried as a stayer last time and just did not go for it. he had a good barrier trial and even though barrier 1 does not seem to suit, he might possie up just behind them.
I have gone for Street Fair; he can begin well; the rider has never been better; trained on the track; and I could not resist 16's over here.

R/8 Yes; you all know i have to go for one of my favourite horses Wrinkly; after all he won this last year beating Vital Silver from memory in a mighty effort in real fast time.
This year i reckon he might trail Snowchino and then zip through to win again!
Dance Music (she''s no hero) is in ; appeared v unlucky last time with having to come from a fair way back.
And WP is on the bottom weight. She does not seem to have the form for this but has the jockey and a real big weight advantage.

R/9 Nos 3,4 and 8 here for me. The fave should win but has been known to do a few things wrong in the run.
Flower of War fell in at short odds last time; so looks like a risk; unless she had accidently too much water pre race last time.
Danny George has always promised so much; but seems to have on and off days ; on home track has to go in.

R/10 this is v v even I believe; so 2,4,6,9 and 11.
I cannot leave Geiger Gem out; his last 2 runs were good in my opinion; if he can roll to the front, he would be right in it.
The main chances are Arnies Boy and Choice Command. The latter is v lightly raced and might steal this from in front.
Arnies Boy has been putting in excellent efforts.
Misty Lad runs well up front;but looking at his old form, he has never beaten much.
Universal Mae has run excellent times at Esperance; was a tough run last time; good odds too.

I am welcoming any comments and might change my name to 'The Feline' in contrast to the other member who posts here.

Good Luck to all; please share your thoughts (you too ROTS); All the Best.

+1 -1

British Bessy and Dark Musket backing up from the Perth Cup...in the same race and on a hiding to nothing with favourite's but Not To Be Mist ( around even money ) the biggest certainty on a racetrack since Veandercross defeated Naturalism around Easter time, Sydney 1993!

Ten races, great race course Pinjarra, should be a terrific day, and not to be mist 8-|

@piker re Firesale - “looks one of the better bets on the card. Think Brett Pope has this gelding flying this prep. Think he was going to go close to winning first up but copped severe interference with the jockey nearly falling. Then stepped up to 1300m here and it was pretty much a barrier trial for him with no clear air at all in the straight. Gets run of the race from the barrier and senior jock takes over”

Think can go the old Dutch betting system in race 8 - three of them between approx 5/1 and 8/1....the ultra consistent and nearly half a million dollar prize money earner Dance Music, then the horse that was flashing home late previous effort - Lordhelpmerun, followed in with Harry Thomas on speed he might keep on kick, kick, kicking!

Race 10 - two longshot stablemates at 25/1 and over for a place...Make Mine Champers and Safety Bay.

Looking at th replays Hash, i see what you mean.
First upat Bunbury thee 3 wide run and then blundering in the straight was amazing to see..
Last run, he didn't see much daylight. But he will have to jump well from the barrier to be in this.

    Two for me tomorrow

    R6 - Distant Trilogy
Big run first up. Fitter, box seat and Pontiff. Ticks all the boxes.

    R10 - Make Mine Champers
On the 7 day back-up from when I was on her last week. Not a bad first up run and she’s up to the mile which is her best distance. Wide barrier no concern she’ll get back and run home strong.

Great call on 20/1 winner Superior Smile @piker, especially as I've gone for the 6/4 favourite as a special, that couldn't even run a place! Favourite's honestly, can stop 'em like nobody. Was a drifting fave Not To Be Mist.

Thought the other great divvy today bomber was the 1.6k trifecta with roughie ( he seemed a bit overs ) Disposition splitting Dance Music and Lordhelpmerun ( good run again it ).

Wrinkly and Snowchino their not the toughest kids on the block.

Make Mine Champers was on their heels again, but that other one I mentioned 100/1 chance Safety Bay, needs to venture down that way, to the Rockingham Beach races, crabs go well there!

Disposition he was three and four wide the entire race with no cover, been a handy ol horse, it's run was huge. How Lordhelpmerun grabbed third was amazing, Harry Thomas had the placing all sewn up.

The winner Dance Music was impressive too.
