Melbourne Cup deaths - internationals

East Coast Racing

2014: Admire Rakti (Japan), Araldo (Great Britain) (frightened by spectator after race)

2015: Red Cadeaux (Great Britain)

2017: Regal Monarch (Great Britain) - died in Race 4 on Cup Day

2018: The Cliffsofmoher (Ireland)

2020: Anthony van Dyck (Ireland)

Add to the above the number of internationals that have been withdrawn by the VRC in recent years and questions have to be asked.

I would rather we have no internationals, than have one die each year.

The last Australian/NZ horse to die in a Melbourne Cup was Dulcify in 1979.
