Is bob good for Racing in WA? Firstly no issue with the bloke, congratulations to him for everything he has achieved, well done. But racing in Perth? Supports a couple of trainers, Most horses bred in the eastern states, so not supporting WA studs. When you front up to a pinjarra maiden, with your $10,000 yearling, but know you cant win, because, your up against one of Bobs Blue Bloods, Stress congrats to bob as a business man, and horse owner breeder. But does it at the end of the day drive away owners and by default Trainers and breeders

Yeah agree, but the stake money he wins here isn’t exactly getting turned back over into wa racing... hence why over the past few years we have lost a handful of studs.. just my opinion

lot more to do with the mares he puts to those stallions than the stallions themselves.

Pity he never acknowledges or gives credit to Grant and Alana - never does.

It's Bob and Sandra Peters business and they run it to get the most out of it for their benefit. It's their money, their horses and they have picked their trainers and jockeys to get the best results. Isn't that running a good business?
It's like anyone on here, when spending their own money on something, whether it be horses, cars, houses, doesn't matter. You make the decision, you do what's best for you. With the budget you have. If you want the seemingly better option, go for it, it will cost you more.
What does Bob owe Perth racing or the local breeding industry exactly? His success is the culmination of 50 years in the sport?
He has built and fostered careers here and put WA racing on the map. Classic tall poppy talk here. People talk about "levelling the playing field" but it sounds more like Socialism to me.

I used to agree with this last statement, however, I'm sure the trainers and jockeys that Bob uses don't need public displays of affection. They get on with it and the acknowledgement comes in the form of trust with his valuable and superior animals. Nobody is holding a gun to their head to work for the man.

Why would Bob prop up the local industry to his own detriment? He is not interested in stallions and has said that often enough. He's got the pool of brilliant mares which hasn't happened overnight.

And as H said, Team Williams I'm sure do greatly appreciate the privilege and benefits reaped from training Bob's horses..not too mention this year how much Grants profile has been enhanced being front and centre during numerous winning Interviews on the big stage.
