R1- SAID NO ONE EVER had been looking for further this prep and ran out of his skin last start when getting to 1600. Finished second in a 60+ event around some horses that would be very short in a maiden. Comes back to 1500 but that still looks a suitable trip if he can find a position on speed where he seems to run his best races. From a wider draw expect Parnham to come out positively and only needs to repeat his last start effort to go close.

R2- Best Bet: NO SURRENDER is racing in top form and looks well placed to make it three on the spin. Has been able kick back after being challenged at each of his last two when racing on speed at 1200. Looks even better suited to 1400 here in a race where he should be able to lead and dictate in. Is backing up for the second start in a row and Pateman may be able to take advantage of that and break their hearts.

R3- ANGELIC MISS may have found the step to Saturday grade a touch difficult in a fast run 1400. Still gave a good account of herself to finish within 3L of the winner and is much better suited back to 1200 in a class one. Prior to that she bolted in a maiden first up before putting in a massive run behind Solaia who has since run fourth in both the 3yo features for fillies. Draws middle of the line to sit closer and being reunited with Chris Parnham are both big ticks.

R4- ELLIE’N’PINK returned to racing with a determined second and was only getting warm near the line over the short course. Had to come wide in that race after the leaders hung off the fence and gave the winner a run. Should appreciate the rise 1200 in a race where she should find a similar spot to last start just off the speed but with a little less tempo in the race she can be that bit closer on the bend. She’s pretty consistent and should run another handy race.

R5- NOBELIUM is a hard horse to catch but will win one sooner or later and this looks a good chance for him. Has been finding a little bit of trouble from barrier one at his last two but has hit the line well regardless and from barrier four here should be able to avoid the fence. Speed looks solid here and a fast run 1000m race looks very suitable. Johnston-Porter gets back on and may be able to make the difference.

R6- LORD LONSDALE has produced two contrasting runs this prep but his best would be hard to beat here. Could’ve done another lap when winning in good time first up and had excuses last start when leading and falling in a hole. Pulled up lame and with an elevated heart rate so happy to forgive coming back to 1600. Has a few gear changes but they all look helpful especially the blinkers and looks like getting another easy lead down in class.

R7- DEPUTANO gets out to a staying trip for the first time this campaign after a luckless last start run. Never saw daylight on that occasion and the start prior out sprinted her rivals in a crawl over 1600. Has always looked a progressive staying mare and gets a chance to prove that as they should go along at an even tempo with Beaucount and Big Caroline in the race. Will be looking for cover somewhere midfield with Parnham looking to make amends for last start.

R8- ABERDEEN QUEEN brings some super form to this from her first campaign. Has a victory over Levitate and Annihilator and Saturday grade fifth behind Indian Pacific when just off Resortman and Marocchino. Is a winner but may be more effective over 1200 to 1400 especially early in her prep and this looks a good option for her first up. Speed should be solid and from barrier four can be pretty close. Gets in really well after the claim and the cutaway should aid Hefel in finding a run.

Great coverage of race 4 by Sky Channel. Split screen and no sound because of Bathurst trots. The Perth race was scheduled to start 1 minute after the 2260 m trot race. Didn't even put up the numbers after the Perth race finished so we could identify the winner. Went straight to a full screen of the trot race.

    1. Mitch Pateman is GONE for the Steve Parnham incident.

    2. Clint Johnston-Porter is gone for almost making P. Knuckey fall in race 3 on straightening. CJP didn't even look before taking PK out. He's been doing it regularly and only just got back from suspension.

Stewards really need to sort these thick bastards out before someone is very seriously hurt.

Wasn't much room for error with the rail out 16mts, and all trying to get to the middle of the track.

Clint Johnston-Porter will miss the Winterbottom Stakes and Kingston Town Classic after copping two careless riding suspensions at Ascot today. Both were 12 days, with eight from second charge to be served concurrently. Misses Winterbottom ride on Stageman

From Twitter. Steve P incident adjourned

    So CJP gets 16 days, not 2 x 12.

What is the point of the concurrent service? If there were 2 incidents they should be served one after the other surely?
