Faith Under Fire-big bet at York... why?

West Australian Racing
Race 1 at York today and someone has had $1800+ on Faith Under Fire which is $1.04 on the tote despite $71 fixed being freely available. It looks legless so the question is why? There is no chance of the win pool getting big enough for the price to get out anywhere near what it should be. The mind boggles.

There'll probably end up being less than 20k in the win pool so I doubt the horse will get out to $10. Talk about taking unders!

They might have meant to have $20 on and accidentally pushed a couple of extra zeros. It does happen too! Once you press the confirm bet it’s all over red rover, and if lose concentration and pressing confirm is a formality, except this time you’ve got $200 or $2000 on it’s costly.

Don’t think tab likes to cancel bets once you’ve pushed confirm either, that’s the whole idea of it.

Not saying that it’s happened in this case.

They might be trying to push the tote price out on something else

Nah can’t see what point of pushing others out in the tote market does although could be i guess, but it puts you 2k behind for a start and have to make that ground up.

Best tote odds and all that think the corps more savvy now and all loopholes closed after being stung a few times, mostly on greyhound racing.

A 6yr old by Musket he was ok won a Group 2.

Another thing that can occur especially over east - so many different codes now - there’s a long odds on fave somewhere bloke puts 2k on but instead of say Melbourne trot 1 he’s got York race 1 - don’t worry it happens, and if don’t check your ticket - kappow!

Anyone know if its raining out in york? I like a horse who is good in the softish going but no idea if the rain made its way there yet

Radar suggests they've had rain and about to cop a bit in the next 15-25 minutes.

Meeting would be doubtful to get through all races going on past form when even a small amount of rain hits. Hope I'm wrong for the club's sake

So it finished up $8.70 win, $11.60 place on the tote. Someone has made a costly error. It ran a fast finishing 6th of 7 beaten about 10 lengths  :))

Cal Expo that’d be the Caliente Greyhounds from Mexico @para - Tabcorp now taking bets on Mexican greyhounds and if that’s not enough there’s two meetings from Mexico - the Caliente matinee and the Caliente evening to bet on, fortunately there’s a siesta in between.

Admiral Promo should win the last but let's be honest it's Cameltown Monday really...

I see the galloper with the 47 finishing position at it's last 2 starts won R5 and The Finest has the same stats in the next. It's an Omen system a bloke told me about a long time ago(and a few get up i notice), could work as well as doing an hour's form on this grade of race.

No one denying that, a somber end to 6 days of racing

The Finest trials like Usain Bolt and races like Captain Sir Tom Moore.
