The 3200 metre Brisbane Cup first surprise was being run early in the card at race 4, but that compares lightly to the next big shock, if no scratchings just 7 runners to go over the two miles.

Never thought would see the day a major Cup in Australia have just the seven starters :-O

To be fair, Riders, It's been a long time since the Brisbane Cup could be seen as a major event.

A look at the field itself tells you that. A bunch of plodders who have been going around week after week for months.
The best plodder will win it.

Who was the last decent winner of the Brisbane Cup? Probably Viewed in 2008 who won the race by 7 lengths on a heavy track.

Viewed would go on to win the Melbourne Cup later that year and the Caulfield Cup in 2009.

Come to think of it...how many horses in the past lets say 30 years have won three city Cup races in their career? Only Viewed it seems.

Winner Knights Order was fairly good, he could be a handy one not getting carried away that it's top shelf but looks a bit progressive at least(and for me good as at least i backed the bugger this start after greening out last time).

That's So You Think's third 3200m stakes winner in this 2020/21 Australian season:

Knight's Order - Group 2 Brisbane Cup, in June

Good Idea - Group 2 Adelaide Cup, in March

Carif - Listed Sandown Cup, in November.

Plus, a So You Think quinella in the Brisbane Cup with Carif running 2nd with 59kg
