razor claws himself into Top 32 as TimO times run for finals

Perth Turf Talk | Metropolitan Racing | Wed 16 July, 2014

The final 64 is set and it came on a Wednesday when a couple of heroic efforts decided the shape of the finals. TimO recorded his 4th victory to crack the top 64, whilst razor lapped our minor premiership winner (willy_jones) to win the highest rated race of the day. Group 1 winner Bfacey77 looks back in touch after a second placing.

14 starts was the minimum to apply, however as always there are heart breaking moments when finals time announces itself.

Seagull will leave the season on 11 placings from 30 starts without finding a win. Chelsea needed a third win to be in the game but could only muster 2 in 31 starts.

Perhaps the saddest story of all was the veteran of the competition, the "Mustard", in RIO who played 43 times for 2 wins and a further 17 placings, however the inaugural finals will not have his name in the book.

Instead the final 64 is decided and justice was served perfectly with the three Group 1 winners finishing one, two, three.

Wizard found a second placing today to qualify and Mi5fitz, who couldn't find that elusive third win despite hitting the front last Saturday, will be there with just two wins. TSS couldn't break the duck mid-season but went on to win 3 and ended up 55th.

Bookers is the final qualifier in 64th position with 3 wins and 6 seconds in 29.

kermietime finished 33 and will face the 64th ranked Booker on Saturday in a one v one, as will the rest of the back 64. choc ranked 32nd is perhaps the greatest victor today moving through to the second week of finals on position alone.

The top 32 will live to see another day, whilst the bottom 32 will become 16 after Saturday.

Welcome to Raceday finals. The ladder is now up to date with those qualified in final rank.

MUSTARD......if you changed the first two letters of that word it'd have a more familiar ring to it!!!!!Really great comp. No better way to test your skills than against your peers.....Here's hoping that Bookers can win for all the underdogs!!!!!
