The Good

Hold the Water, Man - How was it 20/1??? The old adage always forgive one bad run pays big pidends if you're willing to follow it, he was always travelling in the run under those smooth hands of S Arnold.

I say I say I say she's a nice filly - Proper win by Essayez on Saturday, no luck, no favours, gave them weight and was too good. Easily her best win. I hope you lads chipped in a nice little sling for the Pontiff who made it more exciting for you by running her up backsides for 50m in the straight.

Temporise - Probably doesn't need to be stated how well this gelding went, missed the start badly and pushed forward in a race where the first 600m was run faster than the last 600m.

The Pontiff returns on Easter - His ability to get the best out of 2yo's is rarely matched in W.A, and there's no arguing that he stole the last with a brilliant front running ride.

The Bad

Final Notice - I was sucked in by the brilliant 1000m trial, but this horse must have head problems.

Biased Much? - In the majority of races forgiving anything back and wide will pay pidends in the coming weeks.

Happy Easter Satchel Swingers - Bookies being funded early by the Miller stable who did manage to extract some revenge with First Among Equals. Some are put off by his positive attitude in regards to his runners, but it's great for racing as it promotes turnover. If the trainer can't be positive about his horses then who can? In addition to this he always presents his horses in fantastic condition.

The Ugly

I'm Feeling Dodgy - Ummm where's the on-course announcement? I'm all for jockeys taking initiative in a race, and it was a race winning move.

Punt with Caution - I thought this horse was one of the lays of the day, as it races much better with cover and I had it breezing outside Sireeze. Wrong. How about leading in a leisurely 63sec first 1000m with no pressure whatsover and the horse outside it being first up with 59kg.
