Upsets dominate Raceday ahead of three Group races

In a week that shook up the Raceday rankings many of the ladder stalwarts would be nervous going in Perth's premier day of racing next Saturday.

Blacks A Fake will sit on top of the table for another week, however with only 5 rating points separating Mothballs and himself there's no longer a comfort zone.

The two Group 1 winners who deadheated only two weeks ago, Bfacey77 and Maccanic, have now bowed out of the top 16. Vandieman4, who had 5 wins from 9 starts, is now a free-falling 4th after two off weeks and needs a solid performance.

The 130th placed Ricardo secured his 2nd win from 6 starts and upset a host of key players. He topscored the day in Race 1 equal with Big Mac (2 wins from 5) with $32.60 with 5 individual winners out of 8. Flicky fell 10c short of their totals but comfortably won race 2.

hash secured his second win of the tournament and sits in finals contention in 40th spot, whilst Coldy held out the 2nd-placed Mothballs to record his maiden win of this edition in a big scoring affair.

Perhaps the most important performance was that of CPL's who found himself in the top 16 thanks to a huge roughie earlier in the comp, however his $26 win this week ensured that he won't tumble out anytime soon.

Former Group 2 winner Gilgamesh didn't win pretty, however the victory might be the boost of confidence needed to make a claim for finals. He's currently in 70th spot with LuckyLongShots in 64th rounding out the currently finals qualified.

After two weeks of open races, Raceday will feature 3 Group races next week for increased PUNTA prizemoney.
