Vandieman4 takes the first Raceday feature

Chris Nelson | Metropolitan Racing | Sun 25 October, 2015

With a $25 free bet on the line the top 16 tipsters came together for the first Stakes race of the Raceday season. Amongst them competition leader Blacks A Fake.

Vandieman4 who boasts the most wins in the competition with 4 from 8 looked the likely danger to the top 2.

After missing the first and failing to land Ahkedasset, Vandieman4 was amongst the first few thanks to the two Peters runners. However he made his move in the first quaddie leg selecting Success Story to put a gap on Blacks A Fake. With a further 2 out of 3 winners following that selection, the front runner never looked like being caught and cruised home to win by $17 in a dominant display.

When asked about his performance to date, he replied:

"I have been following my old mans horses that have been running well lately, and also I have had a bit of luck due to scraping through and taking the win marginally with a low score on a couple of occasions. Luck never hurts."

Vandieman4 elevated himself to second on the ladder behind Blacks A Fake who boxed on well to finish second in the Group 2 feature.

Maccanic was impressive flashing home for second and continuing his good run of form.

CPL & babehound who landed the big winner at the end of the Belmont looked outclassed and finished well back.

Other good winners of the day in other races included traceynorthofmass who is now 4th following their win, Downbythepalms who amassed $36 and is now 7th overall, the ever green vlahs, naw with $31 and gumby who broke his maiden.

the falcon also boasted the lowest win of the day which saw $12.50 get him over the line for a win, a score that would have had him 8th in the main race.

No mention of the mighty Eza77 (yes blowing my own trumpet) who after a fighting second place backed up with a solid win and the biggest return of the round??? Robbed

Not that I want to point out my horrid performance, but I don't think your system is adding up correctly?  I look to have only picked about $7.90 worth of return, but it shows me with $15.80.Not an issue in a fight for 5th....but @BFacey77 may want to fir...
