vmhockey outstanding in Raceday master class

Perth Turf Talk | Metropolitan Racing | Sun 25 May, 2014

vmhockey has shown the competition how it's done by recording his 5th victory with a massive return of $49.10 - a competition high.

Previously out of the top 16, vmhockey's dominance catapulted him into 11th after landing 5 winners on a difficult day.

The highest rated race of the day saw squid69 win by a nostrel with a total so low that it would have equated to 7th position in Race 7. It mattered not to squid69 who secured his sixth win in a veteran like 29 starts.

willy_jones finally had an off day failing to reach the podium in his event, whilst the other Group 1 winners continued their underwhelming form. Jordan had a day to forget scoring only $1.20 but was saved by all the all famous duck egg thanks to bondiroosters in Race 8.

Godd made a stunning debut scoring $27.70 in his victory and rocketing to 2nd on the ladder. His next performance will be crucial in maintaining such a high spot.

With it confirmed that the Top 64 will play off in a sudden death finals competition in July the pressure to perform has never been greater. A minimum number of starts will also be required to qualify meaning successful debutants will need to do more than perform initially.

Raceday is open each Wednesday metro meeting moving forward allowing competitors the opportunity to improve their ranking.
