Ascot Ascot R8. Railway Stakes

Terry Leighton | Ascot 25 Nov

The feature event of the Perth Racing carnival and what a seriously cracking line up we have this year. No fewer than seven Eastern Staters have made the trip across (though I think we should proba...

Ascot R7. Sky Racing - WA Guineas preview

Ascot Ascot R7. Sky Racing - WA Guineas

Terry Leighton | Ascot 25 Nov

One of the more competitive Guineas in recent memory with neither the guys nor the gals establishing themselves as the dominant sex ahead of the three year old feature. The problem with being a WA...

Ascot Ascot R6. Magic Millions Tattersall's Cup

Terry Leighton | Ascot 25 Nov

The bookies are calling this a two horse race and while I sort of agree with that, I think it is more of a one horse race. Trap For Fools has taken all before him this campaign with some incredible...

Ascot R5. Tabtouch - Placid Ark Stakes preview

Ascot Ascot R5. Tabtouch - Placid Ark Stakes

Perth Turf Talk | Ascot 25 Nov

An intriguing Placid Ark Stakes which, while being devoid of a star young sprinter (proven at least), is an extremely competitive betting affair. Like a night out with Benny Cousins, the speed shou...

Ascot Ascot R4. Crown Perth-jungle Mist Classic

I dare say these won’t be the only fillies and mares that racegoers will have their eyes on this afternoon. They’re also not the only ones which could cost you a few bucks. This lo...

Ascot R1. Amelia Park Handicap preview

Ascot Ascot R1. Amelia Park Handicap

Terry Leighton | Ascot 25 Nov

I’m fairly excitable when it comes to a few nags running on some grass (or dirt for that matter). So when it comes to couple of high quality ones we’ve been able to bet on for weeks in...

Yes, of course, that gulf will always be there...as it was when Johnson, Coulson, Schrader, Lindau etc dominated. I think the lay of the land was always Big stables v Small stables.  But there is, from my perspective, things that could be done within this...

The debut win at Narrogin defeated Never On Time and Bar Couture, not sure how their careers have panned out...SP price was $1.90 and the hoop Shaun Meeres. The Pinjarra Cup fourth...hmmmm. Was set upon!

Jay jay I respect everything you say. But the lay of the land now is big stables vs small stables. That was never the case in times gone by. I'm not sure any handicapping ideas will ever fix the gulf between big and small stables

At the risk of being labelled a recalcitrant, or not understanding the new system or of being out of touch or whatever, tonight's Narrogin meeting clearly highlights what many in the Industry (not a "representative sample" according to some, just a bunch of "c...

I do miss the diversity of lots of different stables making up the field in feature races. Not hall or bonds fault. It's just the lay of the land these days. It's quite sad to be honest.......

Jesus curmudgeon stop making so much sense :)) Ok seriously.....well written. It's not bonds fault at all. Good luck to him for having the cheque book to be able to buy these horses. He's been trying to knock off snr for 10 years and it looks like he has ...

This Nugget is what happens when you don't protect and develop your local breeding industry. It makes the whole on track scenario a farce. Not Bondy's fault ...he has been around a long time and has invested heavily in the industry and is now in a position whe...

With the benefit of hindsight the $9 that was available on Tabtouch for Cruz Bromac to win all three heats and the final was the way to go, especially with the way they seperate the major players in the heats. Having him running at $9 definetly would put th...

Dead heat in the last race but favourites took out every race at Narrogin tonight at pretty short odds for most of them

Stoned Again is a nice flowing type of trotter. Dam was Stoned At Midnight, probably accounts for her getting in foal!!!! Very clever jay jay. Haven't we all been stoned at midnight a few times???????? The "stoned" prefix I think comes from the bill and ...
