Ascot R9. Tabtouch Perth Cup - New Year's Day Handicap
A really uninspiring betting event to finish the day. And by this stage (unless I’ve tipped the card), I will already be starting to show signs of distress at having to wait another 365 days....

Ascot R8. Railway Stakes
The feature event of the Perth Racing carnival and what a seriously cracking line up we have this year. No fewer than seven Eastern Staters have made the trip across (though I think we should proba...

Ascot R7. Sky Racing - WA Guineas
One of the more competitive Guineas in recent memory with neither the guys nor the gals establishing themselves as the dominant sex ahead of the three year old feature. The problem with being a WA...

Ascot R6. Magic Millions Tattersall's Cup
The bookies are calling this a two horse race and while I sort of agree with that, I think it is more of a one horse race. Trap For Fools has taken all before him this campaign with some incredible...

Ascot R5. Tabtouch - Placid Ark Stakes
An intriguing Placid Ark Stakes which, while being devoid of a star young sprinter (proven at least), is an extremely competitive betting affair. Like a night out with Benny Cousins, the speed shou...

Ascot R4. Crown Perth-jungle Mist Classic
I dare say these won’t be the only fillies and mares that racegoers will have their eyes on this afternoon. They’re also not the only ones which could cost you a few bucks. This lo...

Ascot R3. Carbine Club Of W.a. Stakes
Quite an amazing stat in this event with all 9 runners coming out of different races. We have: Northam Cup, RJ Peters Stakes, Colonel Reeves, Ascot Gold Cup, Prince Of Wales, Asian Beau & th...

Ascot R1. Amelia Park Handicap
I’m fairly excitable when it comes to a few nags running on some grass (or dirt for that matter). So when it comes to couple of high quality ones we’ve been able to bet on for weeks in...

I suspect she was trained differently as she was untested at the distance prior to that prep. Definitely lost her turn of foot by the time she got beat in the Turnbull. The start prior was beaten by Gatting(100-1) when she was an even money fav.

Has definitely dropped a level after that prep but i dont recall her having a tough run in the CP or prep generally so has maybe just dropped back a level?, the one win since 2019 was probably lucky it was it the Valley as anywhere else Perfect Jewel wins.

Pant was brought in intentionally and was pretty much the difference thereafter.

I remember she was fav for the Cox Plate after she won the Australian Guineas-All Star Mile double. Maybe the CP prep wrecked her the way the Melb Cup does to some horses?

LOTS of luck needed but if the underpriced fav goes like one earlier Irritable Rodnee can give these other plodders a shake.
