Having seen the nominations for this race I believe we are looking at one of the most exciting races of the late summer/autumn.

Amelia's Reason - Grand Nirvana - Russell Road - Sheenasaidgrey - Zedamak

Should be a great race.

Looking at some past history on this race favorites have been dominant with no horse in the last 10 runnings winning at over $4.60. Barriers have also been a key with the last 8 winners coming from 5 or closer.

    Who is J. Whiting riding? He has a nice track record in the race!

    Think Claite will keep the Sheenasaidgrey ride.

    Good point...he will get that ride! Race is done then....3 from 4 on favs and AR should start favourite in this.

    But I'm going to have Sheenasaidgrey at the moment.

    Staeck had his time reduced, so he is riding saturday. Whiting is on Sheenasaidgrey

    Amelias will start Fav but will run a good 2nd behind the best 2 yold hear -GRAND NIRVANA -IMO- what a cracking race fields look brilliant Saturday i was so impressed with the way this Scenic youngster won on debut could have won by a lot more and his time was good ,this is nearly the Karrakatta field terrific race .

    History shows from those stats that favourites get up in this race. No ordinary horses win this one.

    I see that Grand Nirvana has been heavily backed on Tab sportsbet i looked yesterday afternoon and he was $4 now $3.20 the word is that this bloke will brain em !

    AGREE on both counts :wink:
    read an article AR is some chance of being golden slipper bound if continues on his winning ways,would need to win this race and karakatta too(AND WIN WELL) to justify a trip and help in the funding of the 150K late entry fee...

    Think the karakatta winner will be seen in this race barring some bad luck for the fancied runners.

    Thats a bit tough, not like he has had heaps of G1 winners, altho he is noted for precious types

    Sammy The Bull and Local Legend are two WA horses that kept on racing well as older horses.

    i think its cos a lot of them are a tad undersized. the ones that do train on seem to be big strong types.Racer's wasn't overly big but he was a tank.

    Well only one vote (mine), and the wonder horse gets up! Bugger I went against my initial thoughts in my tips today.

    Think some might come of the fact AR was allowed to run, certainly didn't finish the race off like I thought he would. Did look a little proppy to me as Staeck got legged back on!

    Amelia's Reason comes from well back first start and runs enormous sectionals. Resumes in the MM running handy on pace and gets to line fairly. Today he runs on the lead and hits a brick wall. Maybe connections know how best to ride him but....

    RJ's only good for a couple of runs as 2yo's, then they're done. Breed infamous for it !

    Be careful dungy you might get shot down in flames making outlandish statements like that! Seems to be a lot of knockers on here for this horse but all you can do is beat what is there and he has done it convincingly each time (and don't try the first up he just won as the horse carried a big impost and was probably only about 80% fit). This horse smashed Scenic Blast and he has run second to probably the best horse in the country. Maybe if it was trained by someone like FRK/Nev/Dan Morton/Lou Luciani people might be a bit more congratulatory, c'mon people let's show some support for what might well be the next big thing out of WA and stop finding reasons to bag him or the trainer for that matter. Size means f'all Juene if the horse can run and has a big heart!

    I can never ever remember anyone bagging the horse, I for one have declared him the best 2 y/o here last season. Couple of stablemates got a bagging off steely mcbeam
