Rebel King v Sheidel

West Australian Racing
MobileLinkMobileLink    398 posts
Rebel King the boom 2 yr old has looked great an superior In his races so far

Biggest test so far carrying a big weight against Sheidel who has looked very impressive carrying 54

Rebel King should brain them but can Sheidel give the hot pot a run for his money

I think it will be a lot harder for Rebel King this week

Thoughts ?

Surprised they didn't try take rebel king on this week with the 60kgs and bar plates over the 1000m $1.35 are silly odds to play at.

Sass 'n' glam for me. She is fresh off a spell and meets Rebel King 5kg better off from her 4 length defeat. I think if she goes straight to the front they should fine it hard to run her down. $6.50 the place looks a good price with a spec on the win.

Im a times man so based on that RK will smash them Shiedel been running against crabs and  about 6-8L slower weight wont matter over 5 furlongs RK a special w might get 1.60 ?

Tend to agree 1.60 would be great times is the key

Sheidel looks promising but no Rebel King

I saw sass n glam win at Ascot Midweek nice type but I think rebel king has SNG covered already smashed that horse

The bar plates didn't effect him last start.  Being on the rear, I think they're just a precaution more then anything of trouble.

I just want to see a good race, and him to win by 1 length (winning by 7 doesn't increase the prize money!) :|

Not saying Rebel King will lose but you can't compare times from different days and different track conditions.

Both of Sheidels wins have been on rain affected tracks.

On paper the all up of

    Rebel King

    Surjet

    Ranger

Looks a shots eye but as we know on paper means nothing hot pots get beat every day an 7-1 odd the result looks very short

You lost me at Ranger...these black type races in Perth are terrible betting propositions...

    Sigh...................Ok,
    Observations on comments above :
    1. Pointless comparing times, as RK hasn't gone more than jogging pace in any of his wins. Has run faster times in track gallops (video footage on our stalkbook page if anyone would like to see).
    2. Think Sheidel et al will be concentrating on the other runners and maximising their chances of the $12k prize for second rather than worrying about RK.

Anyway..................win, lose or draw - may the sun shine, the skirts be short, the tops be low, and the beer flow freely. Here's to the weekend !

Maybe they should be taking bets on wether Kennedy will need to use the whip? I personally don't think so.

Rebel King is poison odds. The 2 horses that have ran second to RK haven't even gone close to winning at their next start. Hasn't gone out of second gear yet ? Well even though it's 1000m i would expect with the weight that if he runs a tempo he will be gassed near the 100m mark and that third gear probably wont be there with the weight.

Just my 2 cents worth and food for thought. Of course he might win by 6

so i read that article, and naturally i am interested in where the first 400 metre times came from?
also, why does the writer of the article not put his/her name to it?
and then i just reread it, and i think there may be a bit of confusion as regards the 400 that is often stated!
perhaps the writer meant 600m rather than 400!
interesting 50 metre average sections too, just wish i knew what the point of them is.

shovhog.....i think rebel king is very good, and i am not sure if i am correct, but back to 1000m would worry me.
the other problem is the handicapper.
they are 2yo's starting out, and there is NO way he knows there is 3.5 kg between a saturday 2yo hcp and a midweek one, especially as rk's last run most of the others were out of the handicap anyway.
it's a contrived number with no basis in fact.
still think rk is the winner, but i am glad i don't bet!

I can't say much to knock RK except that if he is as good as what everyone thinks he is why isn't he off to the eastern states for bigger money?

Which 2 year old races would you suggest would be worth going over east for right now?
