that for the two bets multied hash? good value id say....
  • no no not all champ, $2.35 for them to be the highest scoring team for rnd3... be interesting to see price the under/over 39.5 comes up at?
pretty sure u cant multi a bet such as highest/lowest scoring team, high/low double, most goals/possesions for that round they are all single bets only.

  • correct me if im hearing things but apparently some one has just outlayed half a mil on the cats to win the flag this year!!??? big bet seeing as though we're only 2 rounds into the season.
the ideal situation would be to load up on them straight after they suffer their first loss, thats if they get beaten this year....?? think
  • tonytony    2,375 posts
You are partly correct. It has just been reported but was laid before round 1 at 3.30 with one of the Darwin corporates

yeh figured that out eventually  noticed the geelong high melb low double was around $6 also

also, they may go close to going through unbeaten but reckon they wouldnt mind dropping one to take the pressure off at some point before the finals(did i just suggest tanking? :P )i reckon they are good things even this early and very early GF quinella pick might be the hawks.VERY early yet ...but cats look special.

m&p, on Betfair they're 1.04 to make the top 8 - value at those odds at the mo :)

cats are better than they were last year to my eye and they could tank this week and still win by 40.
  • yes mate very early although a few other bets i sniffed out the last few days were.... cats 'last team standing' juicy $1.90, top vic team $1.85 and minor premiers $2.. hmm lock them all in eddie, we'll cut to a commercial and see how they go when we return!! wink could be one more step closer to that million lol
  • BlakeBlake    8,176 posts
whats last team standing? is that flag?

wouldnt think a scoring record will happen in geelong if the game was at telstra dome id say unload on it but geelong weather might be a problem although some of our players grow a leg in the wet
  • littleboybluelittleboyblue    454 posts
Tivers throw out your useless weather report.

my man in melbourne and now ablett59 - in geelong - says it is going to be WET WET WET and probably blowing a gale towards the anglesea end.

Maybe he should let the Met Bereau know then..........

Friday Clearing shower or two. Min 9 Max 19

Forecast is fine for the next 5 days. Melbourne won't get within 100 points of geelong. In fact, they wouldn't win if they started now!

Friday the 23rd of May will be the cats first loss.

Punter weighs in with $100k on Cats

    By Wayne Heming

BRISBANE, April 3 AAP – A few days after AFL legend and Lions coach Leigh Matthews called for an end to betting on games, a leviathan punter has weighed in with a massive $100,000 wager on Geelong to smash struggling Melbourne this weekend.

Sportingbet Australia snapped up the six figure bet at $1.04 and have challenged heavyweight punters to continue unloading on what look to be the biggest certainties and hottest favourites to go around for some years.

Matthews this week called on the AFL - which has major sponsorships with two prominent betting outlets - to wash its hands of gambling because of suspicions about close results and the innuendo it creates for the game and those involved.

While Geelong look “past the post” on form, major upsets can and do happen in sport.

Two years ago Richmond pulled off a stunning boilover, upsetting Adelaide when the Crows were rated good things at $1.10 favourites.

Adelaide were coming off a nine goal hammering of the Kangaroos while Richmond were licking their wounds after being thrashed by 20 goals by a rampant Sydney Swans.

And Brisbane produced the upset of the season last year when they travelled to Perth as $10 outsiders to defeat reigning premiers West Coast and won by 27 points.

Richmond employed high possession tactics, something new Melbourne coach Dean Bailey has promised won’t happen this weekend, in the three point upset in 2006.

“No side deserves to be $1.04 in round three,” said Sportingbet Australia’s AFL manager Steve Fletcher.

“We saw Richmond pull off a big upset a few years ago and Carlton went within a kick of stunning the West Coast last year.

“Stranger things happen and if a hot pot is going to go down, we want to be sure we have plenty of the action.”

$1.06 according to footyform.com as mentioned on AFL TEAMS yesterday, i knew they were close to that quote cause they cost me a multi that week (still not over it nor the loss of last years derby evil )

only team to be beaten at such a short price... oops
