R1. Caroma Plate - Scott Embry
I can't tip against Essayez, Perth Turf Talk owned, she's family. Back to 1000m after a freshen up and with Jake Casey's claim carries 53kg, she has a super turn of foot and should go very close in this. Blinkers added to gear she should be within striking distance and pounce. Was heavily supported last start and sure to be the on-course elect again, go you good thing. Amourio ran well first-up after a throat operation and once getting clear galloping room looked impressive behind talented debutant Pushin' Shapes, logical danger who may lead this field. Express Snooper is a $40 000 Danehill Express gelding on debut, Paul Harvey aboard from the Dion Luciani stable must be respected. Finally kudos to Mike Santich on his purchase of Glitterbell, or Lot 399 at the 2014 Perth Magic Millions for a wallet breaking $2000.
1. ESSAYEZ - 2. AMOURIO - 4. EXPRESS SNOOPER
SUGGESTED BET - 1. ESSAYEZ $30

I'm going to go for a little bit of value here and put Jewel of Denmark as the on top selection at an attractive eachway price of around $11. Drawn perfectly in barrier 5 she should be able to sit just off the speed and give a bold sight. This field lacks depth, a glorified midweeker and I'm happy to put her on top. Ran a long head second to Jaspara who went out next start and finished alongside talented gallopers Power Punch and Im Feeling Lucky as well as Wednesday winner Abbeybell Lane. Putting my faith in the Taylor-Brown combination to find a diamond in the rough. Liberty Rise is the most talented filly in the race but she does tend to get a long, long way back in her races. Form around Ideal Image and Delicacy in the Burgess Queen and Champion Fillies should see her as the main danger. Rodeo Drive broke through at start number 11 and with the Pontiff making a rare appearance for the Parnham stable should be respected.
5. JEWEL OF DENMARK - 3. LIBERTY RISE - 4. RODEO DRIVE
SUGGESTED BET - 5. JEWEL OF DENMARK $20 x $40
I tend to jump ship too quickly after supporting a horse and then kick myself when it gets up so in a very evenly graded 1000m dash I'll stick with Coruscation on an eachway basis. Meets Regal Romp 1kg better at the weights for beating him 2 lengths on Jan 24th and from a very soft barrier 1 draw with only 54.5kg on his back I'll stick with him. Expecting Regal Romp and Detection to go hard and fast out in front and Turner shouldn't spend a cent in running. Regal Romp can improve if he finds the fence easily. Jack 'N' Sam is super consistent and like many Tapper horses goes round week in, week out and rarely misses a cheque.
9. CORUSCATION - 1. REGAL ROMP - 4. JACK 'N' SAM
While the Poms havn't had a chance to cheer "Gwan Son" with their entire squad finding it harder than Shane Watson to make runs I think they'll be able to cheer on Eurosun here. Super talented Miller gelding who has been given time with only 5 career runs to date. Jumps from a gun barrier, number one stable rider Whiting in the saddle and an emphatic first-up winner last preparation while 1200m may be on the shorter side for him he should be able to rattle home off the back of a hot tempo set by old Inok. Strictly Boardroom was motoring late in the 1000m dash won by Travinator a fortnight ago and will appreciate the extra furlong, main danger for mine. Throwing in a roughie for the trifecta in Point To The Sky who can hopefully add some value to the exotics, consistent type who regularly bobs up in this grade.
9. EUROSUN - 3. STRICTLY BOARDROOM - 7. POINT TO THE SKY
SUGGESTED BET - 9. EUROSUN $25 x $25
I think this is the best chance that Back to a Walk has to go Back to the winners enclosure. Has rattled home at his past two into the minor money and while there doesn't look to be a deal of speed in the race with horses like Zester, Vacallo and Almachino likely to roll forward in a muddling run race I still think he can jump over the top of them. Comfysofa represents value at around $11 considering he has beaten the late super mare Elite Belle over this distance at this track. Winner at 4 from 5 runs over 1400m at Ascot, makes $3.50 the drum look enticing. Mad Brad has been screaming out for 1400m and will appreciate not having to chase Temporise or She's A Virtue around.
4. BACK TO A WALK - 1. COMFYSOFA - 6. MAD BRAD
SUGGESTED BET - 4. BACK TO A WALK $30 x $30
Dragonlead jumps from barrier 10, carries 59.5kg, Mitch Pateman has his first career ride on the horse, he is now 28 days between runs after being scratched on Vet's advice when lame in the off fore. Putting all those factors together I'm willing to risk him and tip lightly weighted mare I'm Feeling Lucky. She has savaged the line over 1800m at her past two and while this is a rise in grade she only has to carry 54.5kg from the perfect barrier and looks more than capable of doing so. Ran third in the Belmont Classic behind Proceedwithcaution and hopefully O'Donnell is looking for back to back winners. Should run around $7/8 so on an eachway basis I'll have her on top. Dragonlead the obvious danger and deserving favourite. Already Famous ever consistent but awkwardly drawn and conceeds Dragonlead weight.
5. I'M FEELING LUCKY - 1. DRAGONLEAD - 2. ALREADY FAMOUS
SUGGESTED BET - 5. I'M FEELING LUCKY $40 x $40
Can't see many people backing or tipping against the flying Holy Roman Emperor filly in Sheidel, has given opponents a galloping lesson three starts in a row beating Battle Hero by 2.8, Miss Sedusa by 3.3 and Tiger Red by 3.3. While there is again speed drawn underneath her as long as Stent doesn't panic she can sit outside and punch the breeze and still win. Undefeated at Ascot and seemingly perfectly placed to continue that imposing record. $2.25 on offer is luxurious. Secret Nova should get a gun run behind the speed from barrier 2 and run a place while Disco Metal can push across and sit handy to them and has claims having beaten talented gelding Angel Sky.
2. SHEIDEL - 11. SECRET NOVA - 6. DISCO METAL
SUGGESTED BET - 2. SHEIDEL $100
Incase, like me, you're effectively blind by the end of the day due to a sever case of having too much fun then we'll make it easy for you in the last and go with the Grey Horse in Silver Plated. An 8 year old only having his 7th career start having made a comeback from 2 years on the side lines with injury meaning he hasn't saluted for 1081 days however has only finished outside the money at one run which was on a Soft Belmont Track. First-up chased home talented Warwick mare Goldbo who had her fair share of support from highly astute tipsters so with that formline I'm happy to have him on top. Should be fit and firing second up and this looks a perfect assignment for him to settle midfield and give a big show. Step Right Up is a class dropped having taken on the likes of Red Ora, Proceedwithcaution, Back to a Walk and Right Honourable and the $11 on offer is overs in my opinion. Happy to also open the wallet for him. Don'tgetcaught will charge home and is in career best form.
4. SILVER PLATED - 5. STEP RIGHT UP - 1. DON'TGETCAUGHT
SUGGESTED BET - 4. SILVER PLATED $20 x $50
