Well the only way they could get on it was to not water.....
Now if they water continuously to get the bottom half of the track growing they will continue to get the problem on the top half. Also grass Sweats, so the problems associated with Sweating - and all the fertilizers and additives coming out of the grass, will not be seen until mid afternoon most day!!!!!
So don't water = rock hard......
water only enough as normal = bottom half won't recover until next winter...
water enough to help the bottom half recover = top half risks being lush and slippery when it sweats in the sun.
Solution, IMO..shut the track down for 5 weeks, water the **** our of it and get the bottom half to recover, then come back.
Agree owners, with support from their trainers should boycott the place.. But only by scratching at 0800 on race day for the next few meetings.. If PR are going to continue to be silly about fixing the problem then owners/trainers should come down to their level.
And you cant ask WAROA to go in to bat for you as one of them is the #1 Ticket holder of PR, and the other is the most senior board member of PR!!!

all of you posting on here must know more about tracks than Jason Kerr the Melbourne race club general manager of racecourses his assessment of the track according to todays west he states that is as good as Flemington or Caulfield this bloke must know a little he has been employed by the mrc for 28 years and prepared the surface for the past 12 runnings of the Caulfield cup

agree with the questioning wholeheartedly spinking......and lets hope he has got it right... I'm no where near a turf expert, not seen the track and if I did it'd make no difference.. but I do know a bit (and I don't mean a lot, just a bit) about the effects of additives(lime, limestone, nutrients, etc) , water and heat to grass.
I hope it is an easy solution ,well managed and we get back to the track we want and need...My above post was a knee jerk reaction to hearing that horses have been knocked around again due to a hard track...just bloody frustrating!!!

Probably the back straight......no-one will be able to see that from the grandstands 400m of dirt, then onto the course proper...
=)) =)) Isn't Derby like that??Yankee likes this post.

Turf being relayed in trouble spots at Ascot @PerthRacing really great if rail can be back to 3 for 'SuperSaturday' #waracing

Thank god it wasn't due to poor track management and incompetence!!
