West Australian Racing
If this race is a snippet of whats to come this spring/summer then we are in for some good racing.

I will label the field as the best we have seen for atleast 10 years.

I don't think it is an ideal race for London.

All those that are better credentialed than me would be able to see that a victory here would cost him many many races.

He is rated on 75 and on equal weight terms with Foxy Boy.

Oroya Gold is on 54kg and rated on 94.

My reckoning is that a victory to London will cost him close to 20 rating points and how many races does that equate to.

No drama if he wins the Railway Stakes and one or two of the lead ups to the Ascot mile.

I agree with many he is a horse on the way up but I haven't pencilled the Railway in as his just yet.

i do think Vain Raider is the horse to beat and paul harveys mount, dantes will be there but at that short price first up,i like the value of the raider-then again i want dantes to win

    Interesting comments

I think weights can be over rated at times - esp in sprints. I think barrier positions with tempo and settling positions are a lot more important.

Dean White obviously has a big opinion of this horse to continue to test it against these topliners and if it is to make the Railway it won't get there going thro the grades so needs to grab one of those to push the rating up.

If you take a line thro Centrum who is consistenly around 2 lengths off the better gallopers then this horse isnt far away - add to the fact he is a lot better suited at 1200m with a run under the belt and jumps from probably the perfect barrier Im happy to be aboard at $10 e/w odds.

2/2 second up and 4/4 at the distance are too good to ignore at that price

Im confused with race 4 today with the scr of Snug Buggles could someone explain .
L Smith has stated in todays paper that he scr Snug Buggles to start at Northam next Thursday in a 57-68 then Paul Harvey will ride in his words She[snug buggles will get more weight ] its a 58 rater so how on earth can this filly get more weight than the race she was going to be in today at Belmont ???? she got 53kg[northam] compared to 53.5kg[belmont] i would suggest L Smith start learning the ratings system because it seems to me he does not have a clue and if this filly was going to the VRC Oaks you would think she would have been upto todays race ,its got Best Beware stamped all over it .

ok so he was mistaken about the weight !!!! everyone makes mistakes
as for the filly not being up to todays race is not the case, she has not been herself in the last couple of days and had an elavated temp so was decided its not worth running if shes not 100 % connections are disapointed but nothing has changed regarding her progress.
