Interested to hear any thoughts on race 3.
Also a big fan of Glory Hunter and expect it will dominate.
Vizard for me in the big one.

just realized no Glory Hunter this weekend? Not sure what happened there.
  • Good to see the racebook now including trials in the form
  • Supported Runners

    r1 : Offer Me Jewels $3.10 - $2.90
    r2 : Come Party $5 - $4.20
    r3 : Te Quiro $15 - $9
    r4 : Bike Aaromba $2.60 - $2.15
    r5 : Cold Command $6 - $5, Agribiz $13 - $10
    r6 : nil
    r7 : Vain Raider $5 - $4.40, Moonlight Drive $4.20 - $3.60
    r8 : nil
    r9 : Cohort $9 - $7.50

No support for any roughies this week - perhaps punters realise they can only get $20 on and are not bothered anymore
  • Anyone care to speculate why STEAM ON has dropped back to 1000m rather than go up to the 1600m

looks much more like a miler than a 1000m horse - are they trying to develop it for later racing????

I'm with you there Della. My comment from its debut run over 1400m was 'Made good late ground and further+'. Goes over 1000m at its next 2 starts  , then steps back up to 1400m and runs on well again. So why would they again go back to 1000m? There is a perfect 1600 3yo 0-74 race on the program where he would have looked very well suited. I dont understand the thinking.

Jumping horses up and back in distance seems commonplace in WA, perhaps it is purely a function of a lack of suitable races. Steam on has no hope back to 1000m, will probably be 15L last after they have gone 150m.

But the problem is that on the same day there is a more than suitable race for it. A wasted run for mine from what I have seen so far.

Yes top weight certainly the one to beat but don't mind both Te Quiero and Royal Edict at decent odds. Both have dawn poorly in all runs to date and will benefit from good barriers tomorrow.

I'm hoping you're right Della. All Friared Up all the way!!!!

In Beaufine reckon they'll ride For Your Eyes Only back to rear.

In R9 can't see why they're trying Henry de Horse over 1600m?

R6 good race, going for Blacksmith to get outside the lead and hang on.
  • they should have done that last start with FYEO - learnt there lesson
  • Just finished doing the form

Race 9 is nearly impossible - I came up with the fav at $9

Riding Changes : Apprentice Campbell McCallum has begun his careless riding suspension Friday July 23 and has been replaced on each of his rides at this meeting.

HdH did run 2nd, beaten a nose, over 1500m to Ballroom Crown in the Listed Raconteur Stakes last year.

or they realise they have a horse that is simply just no good and they're clutching at straws. happens all the time in melbourne, definitely not something out the ordinary mate

Still have him listed in 2 races. If they know he isn't riding why not take him out?

Superscenic super hard to beat in my eyes. Track, distance in form young jockey. Looks to have a class edge on these.

  • K Yuill hard to beat in Jocks Challenge but.....

    MCGRUDDY is value at $6

    his rides are

r1 LOVRE - will start close to fav

    Wouldn't normally be keen on 4 in a day but here goes I'll put them out there;

Race 3 Te Quiero (Spanish for The Queer :?: :P ) Didn't get much hope last start will improve and can win.

Race 4 Poly Ollie may put the kettle on today presuming it hasn't gone off the boil. Pete is the one to beat.

Race 7 Foxy Boy not as well suited by 1000 but may fly over the top of them if there is no track bias to leaders

Race 9 Brunello to improve and win a tough race

Antique Rose - set to blossom once again

McScar - should McStitch up another victory

Moonlight Drive - on the road to winning again
