The product or race fields fee the corporates pay to RWWA is supposed to go back to the industry but we don't know how much RWWA receives from race fields income & then what percentage of this is provided back to the industry. Only on-course tur…

So Fastmoney where do the whales go if they cannot invest into AUstralian para-mutual pools to obtain rebates ?
-
Because I don't think PR's friends at RWWA would like that.... though RWWA do it themselves without shame at the expense of their mum & dad punters.
-
Gilgamesh.... the problem is this when most bookies turnover was on-course many years ago, all this turnover tax went directly to the race club, not the managing body like RWWA or RAcing Victoria. Now that the majority of this bookies turnover has s…

Perth Racing stewards report race 7 yesterday "New Time slow to begin losing one length".......................it never even went around ..........who creates this calamity ??????

FM, which issue are you referring to , the taxing of turnover on gross as opposed to nett ? RWWA are well aware of tha & it is Racing Gaming & Liquor (RGL) that have been dragging their feet with legislative change to tax turnover on net hol…

Very passionate man about the bookmaking game, with a lot of knowledge he was prepared to share. Will be sadly missed.

When we were teens, The Diva, THe Doc & I used to sit upstairs at Belmont & Ascot watching the on course tote (betting on country meetings like Albany & Geraldton) intently when we were betting in $1 and $2 amounts & the on-course po…

OK Andrew but Bet $3.65 are just that & wont even bet you to win the paltry amount IAS & SPortsbet do so even less relevant.

RWWA have got a part to play here as well. According to the Pinjarra Race Club (PRC), a RWWA representative told the club that on course bookies no longer financially benefit the race club - this is totally incorrect. Apart from the $100 stand fee t…

Good crowd Falc...............though confused & unable to be on fixed odds until last 15 minutes..........not many punters here though..

Found this article from the West Australian from 2002 which was just as topical then as it is now............ Note WA Bookies still pay stand fees on Perth metropolitan race meetings on a Saturday... > >Bookies strike at Ascot > >By Rob…

On the requested betting types that WA Bookmakers have sought since late last year (Tote based betting, Top FLuc, Starting Price Guarantee), RWWA's feedback was sought on these products & they opposed the introduction of face to face (ie on cour…

LL, fixed odds betting does not return a dividend to the race club, only paramutual betting does. Thus it is in the race clubs interest to have tote betting, not fixed odds betting, dominating the race course.

@LuckyLongshots - no we havent - in fact we had staff on course on Sunday from 11.30 until 1.05 pm thinking there was a meeting on & conducting business as usual ..only to be told after the first race was supposed to jump that the meeting was no…

At khunter/ Godockers , The Diva is trying to make a living as an on course bookmaker which you know, in this day & age, is very difficult to do with betting percentages around 110% to 115% when they jump, without being able to bet any betting p…
-
At Godockers (if that's his actual name?), at least Diva will accept a bet to win more than sixpence......too many corporates splatter prices that are purely window dressing for mug punters, with no actual substance behind the scenes. You may know …
-
Well Kim I actually work in that ring & do accept decent sized bets, second only to piggy I would suggest. So possibly you should change the settings of the profiling software you use there if you're still with bet $3.65 . Or feel free to bet wi…

Just went to have a small prepost bet on Belmont yesterday.....asked for $50 ew at $21. THey bet me $3.60 to return $75.60 (the win) & $5.54 the place to return $41.55. SO the world's biggest bookmaker could even bet me $3.65 as their name sugge…

Diva , the bet in question was at the price on the board, not a request at a higher price so both win & place components should have been accepted - sorry again to Jordan we will wear the $350 & try not to let it happen again. One of the pro…

Jordan, I remember the bet clearly, was meant to accept both win & place but operator pressed the wrong button. Contact chris & we will credit your account the $350 & apologies for the inconvenience. It got busy & we made a blue!
