    Sticking Australian here.

    2. Luckygray winning the Asian Beau effortless

    3. Maschino coming from last on Dec 13th to run them down

Ascot 74+, South african Group 2. What's the difference

Anyway my top 3 in no particular order

    BC Patinack
    Sepoy Blue Diamond
    Atlantic Jewel Wakeful

All three made me go wow. Of course none of them beat anything in any of those three races, but its the way they did it.

If this horse wins the Perth Cup it is a sad indictment on WA Racing. This is a horse for an ordinary Saturday in a rated field, not open class. For him to come here and possibly win a Gr 2 when he has struggled to make an impact in the East, speaks volumes that he is even being considered as a contender.

I was asked by someone to review him with a view to buying into the horse. I only came back with one question, Why? On a positive note perhaps as a 5YO he might have more of a chance next year, and in the meantime be able to recoup his purchase price at ordinary Saturday staying races in town.

But he is not a black type horse.

Come on Damien this field is a joke at best.

Yes I agree 100% not even a decent Listed field. It is really just a good Open Saturday field, one that you would hope to attract at the business end of the year when all the black type horses had taken the slots available in the Gr 2 and this was the high quality leftovers field.

Thanks again to the wonderful work of those couple of guys who thought without thinking, what a good idea it would be to shorten a time honoured event into a 2400M farce. But I digress.

God Has Spoken if he comes out on a similar form to his most recent outing, will be hard to beat. An 82 rater from Melbourne shouldn't evene get within 5 lengths of him.

I think Bob Peters will still play a role in this race, even with his second stringers. The bottom one is in very light, and I think she will be chasing home the Stallion late in the race.

12 lengths will cover this field, such is the high quality that it presents. The good news is that when they pass me, it will still look a bit like a horse race for the photo's.

from the form guide I kept after going to The Curragh.

Irish Field St Leger Group 1

    4. Red Cadeaux "Gets the trip well but just not quite up to this level based on latest run"

he ran second that day to a roughie, Duncan who dead heated with Jukebox Jury. Fame And Glory was all the rage but misfired.

next start was the Melbourne Cup Group 1, ran second to Dunaden.

next start was Sha Tin for the Hong Kong Vase Group 1, ran third to Dunaden

so almost as good, certalinly from the owners expectations, more than what they thought they had on their hands

Is a fairly ordinary field. Some of these runners failed to produce a run in recent Listed races and are now stepping up in class!!! If Super Simon can pull it off then good on him
  • it has no hope of winning, simply because it's not much good

Have been a big fan of Sam Trimboli's horses over the last few years. My all time favorite is Trimvision - won at 40/1 for me at a Sat meeting a few years back. It only won a few races but I still remeber it clearly.
So its LOPOV for me in the PC. If i remember correctly Trimvision was trained by a K Willamson? On the day trimvision won he also trained Rollo (was on that too!) and another horse at GOOD odds. Is this chap still training????

Almost had a fourth winner that day as wel. I'm pretty sure the other winner was Dress Suit. I backed 2 of the winners and it was a huge day on the punt, but nothing compared to what Sam took out of the ring that day.

Im sure the bookies were burning that day! Another fav of mine was sheenasaidgrey. It too won a few races at good prices. Cleaned up on Famous Roman its two runs before the railway last year. Should have won the railway that horse and if i remeber correctly there was a huge go in the ring that day too!! Good luck to the conections for the Perth Cup - may they need an armaguard escort to get out of the ring!!!!!

Ex steward Williamson not known for many winners trained 4 winners in one day over the carnival. Top trainers around the country would rarely (if ever) train 4 winners in a day.

Nearly every week? Of course they do

    Record for past 6 months.

    Chris Waller 45
    Peter Snowden 32
    Gai Waterhouse 27

Poor Gai has landed just over 4 a month let alone in a day.

She has only had about 4 runners in the last week.
She is very low on starters at the moment.
