Being an Ex-Perth horse thought this thread deserved a place here...

As an un-ashamed, completely biased fan of HAY LIST, this post is with no malice towards the horse whatsoever. Excuse the pre-text, but let me take you back to 4th April 2009.

The race was the MISS ANDRETTI sprint, the horse DANTES VOLONTE. There were VERY strong rumors the horse was lame heading into the race. For some unknown reason (well actually, the betting records may tell a very obvious story that i cant publicly) DV actually started the race.... Opening up somewhere around $1.20 it drifted to start somewhere around $1.65 on betfair, finishing a well beaten 5th of 7 starters.

As a huge fan of DV, from that day I delighted in the fact the horse would never win a race again (http://www.perthturftalk.com/forum/posting.php?mode=quote&p=99555). Barrass, and to a lesser extent the owners, got everything they deserved by screwing the punters over that day.

I sincerely hope everyone involved with HAY LIST (perhaps not JM because I suspect he is just the puppet) get everything they deserve.

Carey once posted about a genius in horse racing probabilities (perhaps the best along with his partner) lamenting a certain states "un-predictability" perhaps due to dishonesty, giving up betting on Australian horses and "moving" to Hong Kong.

I've said enough, i feel like mailmain. You get the gist.

Agree completely, they obviously bottomed him with that newmarket run - and ran him even with his problems

also part of the DV fanclub :(. The official fluctuations even recorded it shortening i think ??

not sure what your point is? the horse had an abscess (or thats what was reported). It came out a few days ago.
As an owner and trainer, you make a call as to whether he'll run or not.
In hindsight, maybe they're saying...we shouldnt have?

My question really is as a result of racing tonight, has the horse further declined ? You have got to query why anyone would want to run off the back of a hoof abscess so close to race day. It wasn't for a maiden Group 1 victory, and with plans to go to Ascot, England for July, I would have thought the risks far outweighed the short term gain of a possible win.

Can't say I have a lot of sympathy for the connections.

Well Put Damo 100%,i hope poor little Katie wasnt crying in her Pimms and Lemonade last night  ,didnt the racing Victoria vet give it a thorough vet check and passed in 110%?? maybe the 58.5 and hard run in the Newmarket took its toll but on that run he will struggle beating Foxwedge again i was on for a good quid last start but didnt have a dime on him last night so was happy with the result maybe the great one BC has finally broken his heart

Not sure what you mean by not beating foxwedge again?

On that run he could definitely beat him, foxwedge had the drop on him, and hay list obviously didn't have his usual sprint in him. I think also that glyn rode the race to beat buffering and didn't expect anything to come from behind him.

  • no doubt he will have a excuse, they always do when he gets beat. Vet passed him fit to run so he was fit

He was clearly sore, take a look at the head on

Think the attitude of the topic poster is nonsense, in both instances the connections weren't trying to lose, would take a special type of people to deliberately lose with such quality animals (STB anyone ) Save that brand of bile for when when the masses are deliberatey defrauded in a calculated manner (i.e. Perth staying race not that long ago)

I see a certain someone is up on another bicarb charge :D
